This may help investigations ..In Windows the task manager (Ctrl+ALt+del) > processes shows you the CPU usage by process my idle comes in at around 25% in Vista As for Macs Click on the "Applications" icon in the a Mac "Finder" window and scroll down to the "Utilities" folder and select "Activity Monitor." Double-click "Activity Monitor" to launch the application.

Display driver type was Auto, no idea what that would default to, but I'm going to check that. Edit: Direct3D seems to be better for me than OpenGL, but I didn't test it for very long. I'll try that tonight. It has been a while since I updated my drivers, but I'm not quite sure how that would make for a sudden change in performance unless there was an un-documented change to accomodate new drivers. I'll look and see if there's an upgrade for my NVidia GEForce 9600 GT.

OK, I just enabled the AV and things immediately returned to the interference with things like typing. WTF??? I checked the priority and both Ryzom and Avast have normal priority.
