I have nearly exhausted all of the Dappers I had from Silan on random things that I probably should have never bought.
What ways are there to make some more Dappers? I've looked around at what missions are available, but they aren't very good. Some send you running all over the place as a delivery girl and pay very poorly. Others are fighting missions which I'm not very good at because I spend most of my time digging and crafting, not fighting.
I know I can sell to other players what I craft and dig up, but it's all very low bad quality stuff that nobody is going to ever buy.

So I'd like to advice on how to make some Dappers before I go broke!

Try doing the water boy mission do level 1 for a bit only use basic mats take the occ mats do not leave for xp hand these into the new horizon guy near the welcomer you get dapper and tryker fame can give the NH guy 35 items per day I think

Also, head by windy head in fairhaven, have a talk with the overseers there. They have missions with rather nice dapper-rewards for those who craft, and most of my dappers come from high level overseers.

"It's shite being tryker! We're the lowest of the low. The scum of Atys! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the Matis. I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We're ruled by effete arseholes. It's a shite state of affairs to be in, Marceline, and ALL the fresh air in the world won't make any ****** difference"

Oh wow, I just went to those overseers you recommended. I had no idea about them before, thanks for the tip :)

Eonita, as you like to explore: It's worthwhile to travel around and check the tribes. They also usually host overseers. Since they are a bit off the beaten path, they often offer higher amounts for similar items. However, I won't spoil the fun of exploration for you by naming some details :-p Just be aware that you want to craft items of the nation for which you can craft well, and most (but not all) overseers want material of their own nation regardless where they are located. There are a few, though, who ask for items of a different nation. So it is worthwhile to travel and talk to them yourself.

Just as a teaser: Low to midlevel that I am, I know of two very conveniently located overseers, where the round trip time to fetch the mats, craft and return is very short (using TPs).

Have fun!

But I agree with Khandoma, for a Tryker the Fairhaven overseers have excellent starting offers - I'm not so good with the rather delicate designs of Tryker equipment, so you can see me standing there and messing around with those materials every now and then. But Trykers are well traveled, and there are tribes in the jungle...

Don't dismiss the Delivery Missions - Overseers with friendly tribes usually have at least one delivery to a person there in the camp with them. Easy Money :-)

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .

I do like to explore, but when I asked how to get from the Tryker lands to the other races places, I was strongly warned not to go alone. Too dangerous, I was told.

I assume that by tribes, you mean villages/towns located in different places?

It's not *difficult* to visit other continents, if you do it in small steps. See the topic here:

BMSite is your friend, check the Maps section and enable the teleports (altars) so you know where you need to go. Getting to and through Resting Water involves mostly swimming, and from RW to the Fount karavan tp it's a straight line without much aggro. If you're patient to wait for the aggro to move, you have a fair chance of reaching the Bounty Beaches karavan tp too. Getting to Trench of Trials and through it, you might want to ask for help.

To expand on what Khandoma said: if you do the water carrier occupation and choose to keep the final products (dread water at grade 1, iirc), you can then hand in said products to the New Horizons transporter located just at the Fairhaven entrance. The payment is a few thousand dappers per product handed in. Ask for a good recipe (Uni channel, friends, etc) so you ge the maximum amount of products daily (18).

You can have three occupations, New Horizons will however take at most 35 products daily (equivalent of two occs done with max yield recipes). You can do Cartographer in Zora once you reach the city, for instance, or Toolmaker in Pyr, or Florist in Yrkanis. Overall payment will be at least 100`000 dappers for the patient homin - occs are dreadfully boring and repetitive, not to mention the sale process xD

Thanks everyone for the advice. Lots of it and very helpful :) I honestly didn't expect such openness and friendliness.
Lots to take in at once, so I'll take it one step at a time :)

There are the big four capitals - one in each nation.

Then there are what we call cities or villages: Bigger settlements that have buildings you can enter, trainers, and traders. In Trykoth this would be Avendale, Windermeer, Crystabell. They are quite some distance from Fairhaven, but easily (=safely) reachable by swimming. It's worthwhile to explore a bit and enjoy the landscape.

The tribes have only very small settlements, no buildings to enter - just a few tents. There are no trainers and no traders. Sometimes a hawker visits them where you can sell some stuff. Each tribe has a "welcomer" or a "chief" and a few other people who provide missions. Those are useful for getting fame with them. There are tribes with whom you will start of with a very low negative fame. If it is too adverse, then they will kill you on sight. (Hit shift-f to check your fame with the tribes.) Tribes with whom you have a positive fame are excellent resting places, for they do employ some guards.

Welcome to Atys! Enjoy!

i felt the same way when i came to the Main Land, New Horizons is a good way to make dappers, but they require you to have fame with the tryker people of a minimum level to get the dappers spoke of, as for feeling as though you wasted dappers on things, if i can help you save dappers on gear or other things please feel free to ask me, sent an in game message to me ( type /tell talkIRC i need help) and i'll be right there to offer you a hand with what you need, i felt very lost at first but there were so many people that helped me i couldn't help but feel grateful to them and for the help, and now i'll like to offer my help to you to give back for all the help i have gotten. i don't expect anything in return for my help, i just hope that one day you'll be able to return that favor to another player in need in the future.

please don't worry about bothering me, i would love to be a help to you, and dappers will come quicker over time as you level.

hopeful to be your helper,
talkIRC
