Naja. Der GSoC in Bezug auf das Ryzom-Projekt hat mehrere .. Nachteile.
Einerseits habe ich gelesen, daß es sich um ein Preisgeld handeln soll, das an das Team oder den Programmierer des gewinnenden der aufgelisteten Projektes geht. So wie ich das verstehe, gehen die anderen trotz erbrachter Leistung leer aus. Genauso richtet man sich offenbar an Studenten und Schüler.
Des Weiteren sind die aufgelisteten Punkte schon nicht ohne. Und wenn ich sehe, wie am laufenden Spiel gerade gearbeitet wird (was die vieldiskutierten Bugs, neue Features, Umstellungen etc betrifft, die teils sehr fehlerhaft arbeiten und/oder neue Fehler reinbringen, bestehendes verschlechtern, offenbar auch völlig ungetestet ins Live-System gehn etc .. ), dann finde ich die geforderten Dinge auch etwas .. "krass" hochgegriffen und unbescheiden im Vergleich. Keine Frage aber, daß Ryzom solche Tools braucht.
Ich habe das oben nur übersetzt, was nicht bedeutet, daß ich *für* Kickstart stimme. Genausowenig interessiert mich aber auch der GSoC. Aufmerksamkeit: ja. Aber noch bezweifle ich, daß dabei was rumkommen wird.
Die andere Plattform wäre vielleicht eine nette Möglichkeit, sich günstig noch ein paar Leute ins Boot zu holen. Aber obwohl ich gelegentlich auch gegen Honorar bei verschiedenen Projekten arbeite, ist mir nichts in der Art bekannt.

First, I understood that the money from Google is a prize that will go to the team or developer of the winning ryzom-related project. The others seemingly won't get no money, even though they did their job. They also seemingly target students only. Furthermore, the list of qualified ryzom projects for GSoC isn't easy-going. Compared with the way our guys are working on the current code (talking about all the bugs persisting for years, new features and changes that seem to only rarely work as intended, but often introduce new problems and look like being incorporated into the live system quite untested), the demand for the mentioned new tools appears quite immodest to me. But no doubt - ryzom needs em.
I just translated the first post above, not meaning that I'd be *pro* Kickstart. But nonetheless I'd be promoting GSoC. Attention: Yes. But I doubt it will be of real use to us yet.
