[Zoraïs / All] Purple Gubani

An Urgent Letter to Wuaoi Yai-Zhio

Bitttymacod sits at his usual table at Ba'Naer Liffan's bar with a double shot of stinga rum in front of him and a tankard of lakes beer to chase it. A fine parchment of igara wing, some paper and pots of inks and paints litter the table as well. He transfers data from his notebook to a map, then sets it aside to dry. He closes the pots of paint and opens the ink jar and begins to pen a missive.

Unto nair-Wuaoi Yai-Zhio greetings. You are the only high level ranger that I know of to send this Izam. There are great dangers afoot in the New Lands and I beg you send this missive on to the highest level Rangers. You will understand when I describe what I have seen.

Some days ago I traversed the Path from Zora to Kipucka Hill in Void and was startled to see clouds of Goo Vapor nearby. I ran my usual route (or almost my usual route, for I kept running into areas of Goo damage) to Paramount Stock and found more. I have now completed a two-day survey of the region from just east of Staring Stronghold to the western border of Lost Valley.

Observations:

Geographical:

The boundary of the Goo in Void seems to have expanded into previously unaffected areas by anywhere from 75 to 200 meters.

The Void Karavan altar is right upon the edge of the Goo incursion and is only accessible from the south.

The Void Kami altar is right upon the edge of the Goo incursion, but is accessible from the east along the edge of the chasm and from the vortex to Undersprings following the edge of the chasm. I could approach it from the west by dashing through the Goo damage without too much harm as long as I stayed near the ramp.

The Ranger Path at the top of Kipucka Hill is accessible as long as one does not go too far west when entering or exiting.

Staring Stronghold is free of Goo.

The route down to the eastern end of Lost Valley must be taken at the east end of the ravine or along the ridge to the east.

The Zorai Kitin Observation Camp in Void is completely overrun by Goo Vapor, so thickly that I could not see the guards. I assume that they have either fled or been overcome.

The camp of the Masters of the Goo is completely enveloped in Goo Vapor, but the tribesmen seem to be moving about normally. This is both strange and worrisome.

As you can see from the attached map, the entire northwest corner of the Lost Valley has been enveloped.

I have heard from nair-Ulsort that the Zo-Kian Outpost is close to being overrun by the Goo Vapors.

Behavioral:

The very rapid expansion of the Goo damage in only a few days seems to have halted, at least for the moment.

The Goo Vapor clouds that are normally very slow moving are now moving very rapidly across the land, and moving very far from the edge of the damaging Goo. If I were to attribute motive to the Goo (which is nonsensical) I would say that it looks as if the clouds are hunting.

I will continue to map the boundaries of this change. I will also share the map with all homins.

I remain your student,
MacOd Bittty, Ranger Aspirant

Bitty rolls the letter and the map together, calls an Izam and sends it to Wuaoi Yai-Zhio.
