chapter 42 (the great explorers)

after days of further travel another team had found another clue left behind at one of the campsites we've been encountering. this time there where only a few scrolls and a set of jewels found. the description of the chest they were found in is much like the one the other team found, but not as big based on the description. given the increasing dangers to all teams and the difficulty finding campsites that are defendable for good rest we had decided to have all teams hold position at their current locations while the newly found scrolls had been read.
it's come to light now that all the teams have at least one homin with no nation that can read these old language scrolls. this is a fortune not planned for in any way when we first set out on our great adventures in search of the rumored lost cities and forgotten lands.
these scrolls are wrote in the same old language as the others were wrote. they tell the same story as the last only there is more here then the last discovery offered. the further story these scrolls report is slightly more ominous tale. like the first set of scrolls found they tell of a long journey and the same dangerous creatures. they also speak of a similar dangerous climb down a steep and difficult path. the part that is ominous to us is where it speaks of dangerous creatures that were attacking the homes of these travelers. they tell of attacks that were coming more frequently everyday, which lead to the desire to seek new lands where they might be safer. they do also mention that most of the dangerous creatures that were attacking were unable to follow them down the climb. it states that those that were able to follow them down the climb were quickly killed by the master hunters and warriors in the group of travelers.
only four days time passed while we camped to await the clear message of the new found scrolls. now that the task has been completed we've all agreed that if more scrolls are found that we will again hold our locations until they are read and a report can be sent home. we now plan to again resume our travels onward in search of the rumored lost lands and cities. we shall continue to search for any sign of a climb like that described in the scrolls. for all homins at home we ask that you keep us in your thoughts as we press ever onward in the hope to improve life for all of atys.
