Reaction to Reports to the Academy

Mac'Od Bittty finishes reading the published report by Ser Salazar about the "Oracle" in Min-Cho. He mutters to himself, then composes a letter to Ser Salazar with his thoughts.

Lordoy to Ser Salazar this 29th Day of Harvestor, 1AC, 2582

I am very pleased to see your reports being released. It is always a pleasure for one researcher to read the works of another. In particular it was good to see your caution in interpreting the advent of this "Oracle". However, I think you may have missed one very obvious possibility. It would not be the first time that a Zoraii has been driven mad by the Goo and claimed supernatural powers of insight.

I am reminded of the report of a madwoman who roamed the streets of Zora for a while in the years before the Second Swarming . She claimed that the Goo spoke to her. The amber cube of her story (**) was never completed, but clearly she was simply mad.

The other possibility is one that you mentioned in passing: That the Kami have withdrawn their support of the Sages and that the "Oracle" is a true oracle portending great changes in the governance and faith of the Zorai. That, indeed, would be something to be worried about for all of Atys.

With respect,
Mac'Od Bittty
