Ryzom 3D Printed FIgurines

A question: Could the un-colored ones be painted with standard model-painting acrylic or oil-based enamels? Since I don't know the material they're made out of, I'm asking. If so, then people could paint their own Kipeeketh.

All materials are listed here: http://www.shapeways.com/materials/?li=t_menu and you can select the exact material on top of the product (at least that was the case for the Yubo I've had a look at)

But since all the materials mentioned are plastic of some kind any paint that's not aggressive (no solvent/thinner involved) should work well if it stays on plastic.
I've seen lots of explanations on how to get acrylic paint to stick on plastic (clean very well, mix paint with glue, ...) This description sounded the most promising to me: http://www.3dprintingera.com/painting-3d-prints-pla-nylon/
