to the person that said good stats, i'm confused, have you ever looked at the results of an item crafted with gen mat's? the result always has the same stats as basic normal mats even with using choice gen mat's (from personal xp doing compares, as well as eruv's studies in the past.)
For example, LA fyros beige parry armor (so +1 parry, 100 in parry precraft), sleeves in any plan, q220+ cannot be done without generic mats (maybe with kitin larva, didn't tried with that).
Same with +3 parry(100 parry precraft too) q250 HA in beige/green/turquoise/purple, it's way harder to do them without generic mats (and some of them are just undoable)
So yes, you can have good stat with them, sometimes you have no other choice but to use them
