as far as F2P losing their stuff: If it meant anything to you, you'd sub. your lack of willingness to support the efforts of the Ryzom team kinda shows how little you care about the game or your time.
i'm a recent 'discoverer' of the game. i've only had the time to play a little bit. but i like what i see and have subbed. not just because the game is complex and sandboxy enough to satisfy me on many levels, but because this is the only open source MMORPG out there and i want to see it do well. and let's say things go south with the game (hey, hasn't that happened to this very same game before?!), because Ryzom Core is open source, I'm sure we'll see some cool things rise from the ashes...
I actually feel like that sub fee goes to fix and develop the game, not just pad out the wallets of the Board like it would with a game from EA or Activision.
