I like the original resorting option.

When i do heals i frequently get annoyed by team members who are in a different region and get themselves hurt. I always click on them and try to heal until i realise 'this toon is always out of range, ignore it'. It still requires some attention afterwards. Would be nice to move that toon to the bottom to help me remember (reduce the level of attention required).

There is another important gameplay change associated with it - it's about macro driven alts. At first i thought it would not be a good idea since it will make macro driven alts easier to control. Now i realised that macro driven toons already work fine as they are, with the disadvantage that those alts have a hard time targetting arbitrary players in team. Currently the solution is to make name based target macros that need to be changed if team composition changes. Almost nobody seems to actually use that option - with the result that arbitrary players almost never get directed healing from macro driven alts in teams. Using this suggestion it would be easier to reconfigure alts to use directed healing on the toons controlled by other people - not a plus for alt-users but a plus for real players in teams that use (lots of) alts.

Groups could be nice too, but i think it's a hell lot more work to implement it. I would rather want to get something elaborate like that on contact list (making groups like 'loved enemies', 'pvp buddies', 'crafters', ..... each displaying a number if collapsed). But that is another suggestion that is off topic in this thread.
