Clothes Crafting (Requires Fashion Designer Occupation)

I don't know if I would do this idea specifically but an upgrade to the crafting system where players design their own patterns would be awesome. Ryzom is almost 8 years old now and with the evolution of more and cheaper storage and bandwidth, its hard to believe that its not very doable.
Crafting is definitely one of Ryzom's strong points but this is an area where it can become even stronger.

I would suggest the designers work backward on how much they do and how involved the system is.
First deciding how much information they are willing to add to an items definition in their storage and how much information they are willing to transmit to the clients. Get that working and proven out with null information at first. At the same time they could play with how they want the player design system to work.

Several avenues are open i would think, an advanced occupation would be ineresting, as would just adding 3-4 basic patterns for each pattern in the game now with several attributes that have 7 or 8 options each.
One thing i defintely want is ability to put guild symbols on shields.
