a question about leveling

I want to give you 3 different answers for this question:

1. Most common style

Many if not most players new to ryzom are very comfortable with doing the silan and early ML content solo. There are several reasons for that: The content is with a few exceptions easy to solo. Not everyone is the type of human that talks to and gets in touch with strangers easily. Most MMOs out there are not about teaming up until you reach some level of content (instances).

So Silan is mostly solo business. However, a helpful guild that recruits you on ML should help you to get into level ranges where teaming up is more and more frequently done. Ryzom requires a lot of teamplay once you reach a certain level (roughly lvl 80). It won't be hard to find people and teams then. It might be helpful to join a guild that has a lot of new players.

2. Find someone / a few people early in game

If you are more of a social type of human you can try to find a small group of people to join with very early in game. Doing so will help all of you throughout the game - and create a unique experience finding out a lot about ryzom on your own. I think this is the most fun way to get onto our root ball, but it might take some time to find suitable people to team up with.

The main difference to the method above is that you don't need to 'skip' all that <~80 content in order to get people to actually play with (actually playing in contrast to receiving help).

3. Many new players at the moment

Ryzom has more new players than it had before the release of the mac and linux native clients and the introduction of lvl 125 free to play. You'll find a lot of players at or below lvl 125 now.
