I personnally think they are the thing that is supposed to make PR dangerous and scary. All those marvelous "Oh crap ! RUN" moments full of panic when we almost but not quite wipe while trying to sneak our way to a Boss spawn... makes it much more... exciting, no ? They make much more epic memories than "Found boss, called friends, killed boss."
Of course... I don't dig PR. Well I don't dig much elsewhere either.
I could agree on a longer respawn time (like Named mobs, for instance) and a better path synchronisation so you don't get gang raped by 3 KPs at once... but don't remove them completely. That would be lile removing the main evil guy in an horror movie... won't be quite as scary afterwards.
PR is like the scary house of Atys... except, much, much bigger. Now go treasure hunting in a haunted house full of critters that are out to eat you.
