Tips for n00b

Welcome, Munenori

Do all the missions you can find, even if they don't sound interesting. They are usually more interesting than you first thought. If you get bored, do another craft / mission / whatever - you can always go back and complete the first thing.

Don't worry about gaining skills you might not use much. They may come in very handy later on.

Ask around in game - there are people on Silan who have been everywhere and done it all, but even other noobs may have solved the problem / found the place / etc. before you. If they don't know, after you find out go tell them. Share your knowledge.

Be prepared to help anyone - and to accept help. Collaboration is the key to several missions on Silan and on the Mainland it is even more important.

Take time to watch the movement of the animals. They move around the landscape in complex patterns, some dependent on the season. So for instance the Javings south of the ruins will move around in groups. On minute you're safe, the next minute you've got 5-6 of these things attacking you.

Like Gorran said, don't be in a hurry to reach the Mainland. Silan is more than just a training area and if you take the time to explore you will learn stuff that will be invaluable once you get to the Mainland.

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .
