Well, we can no more expect them to step away from their "god" any more than we followers of Ma-Duk would. I think Marelli is trying to be more inclusive by focusing the effort on a racially neutral tribe...moving away from the Matis (while also providing us some useful updates about the chaos currently going on within the Matis soaps).
