I've got the following in my .cfg as recommended by the various powerbook threads:
DisableVtxProgram = 1;
DisableVtxAGP = 1;
MicroVeget = 0;
SoundOn = 0;
Bloom = 0;
Double tested it again today and it still crashes, so methinks something else zone-specific is going on. I can start other characters elsewhere and play them; they're fine. It's also a different flavor of crash than the initial start-up crash. The initial MicroVegetation crash froze up the entire computer and required a rude reboot. This crash just crashes the ryzom application and the computer goes about it's business just fine. I'll mail in my client.log.
