Enquête sur les Kamis

Holeth, Winderly 24, 3rd CA 2615 (06/10/2021)

Lorlyn goes to the meeting organized by Haokan at Mystic Falls to find out more about kami and the other 4 commandments...

"The 5th Commandment says: If you follow the path of kamie enlightenment, I will revive your spirit if you die before attaining ultimate merit.

According to Haokan, it simply means that the Kamis resurrect us as long as we haven't reached Enlightenment! Couldn't the great kami have said that directly? It would have been much simpler!

I also learned what it was to pray! In fact, it's "stretching out your whole soul to the Kamis". I still don't understand how they do it, they're really too good! Apparently, praying also means listening to your sap... But it's strange, mine doesn't make any noise... ?

- The 6th Commandment says: Don't be tempted by false gods, they can't be of Atysian composition, they have no place in my plan, they are sources of imbalance.

Hao explained that there are lots of different Kamisms, but in Revelation Kamism, the only god is Ma-Duk.

- The 7th Commandment says: Be the enemy of excess, and your journey on the path to kamie enlightenment will completely fill the emptiness within you.

So all you have to do is avoid excess, plain and simple! Except for Byrh, but there's no such thing as too much Byrh.

- The 8th Commandment says: Just as I sowed the seeds of existence to the wind in preparation for your life on Atys, you must spread kamie enlightenment to the four corners of the world.

And that's when Haokan started singing! It surprised me, hihi! I wrote down the lyrics:

"The bark, the sky, all of it ♫♬
are to your glory oh kami ♫♬
to contemplate your brilliance ♫♬
and be inspired by your light ♫♬
ô kami, ô kami, ôôôôô kamiiiiii ♫ "

After being kidnapped by Giasuki (see "Lorlyn's Diary"), Chief of the Antekami, I asked her out of curiosity why she didn't like the kami, who are so cute. She explained that they shackle her people, deprive them of their freedom and steal their faces to put on the "muzzles" that are their masks. I was surprised. The Kamis, depriving them of freedom? What do you mean by that? Giasuki told me that they've chosen this appearance to please hominity, the better to fool us and abuse our trust... She also explained the term "Theocracy", which I'd never really understood before: it means that it's the religious power that imposes its will. So, in fact, the Zorai don't really have a choice? They're obliged to listen and obey the Kami? Oh dear... It's all so complicated! The head of the Antekami adds that they prevent them from thinking for themselves, from praying to other entities and from making decisions without asking their permission. But that's horrible! How can they do that? Anyway, it only seems to be true of the Zorai, because I've never had this kind of problem... At least I don't think I have...?"
