IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Atys is a living planet. Things change. There is more to existence than merely repeating the past "because tradition". 

The only real turmoil I've seen in the entire decade I've been here is the conflict between those that feel things should never be allowed to change because Atys should be as it was, and those who feel Atys is more than just a mono-culture stuck in a time loop. There is a diversity of views, including opinions about how much tradition should hold us back and restrict us, and I think that we should at least consider leaving a long-gone past.


Sure, NPC armor should be earned in-game since it has a pretty drastic affect on gameplay. And certain cosmetic items, like candy canes and pumpkin helmets, have a commemorative value that should not be sold for money. But the storage offered by Zigs has less gameplay impact than simply creating storage alts. And with so many folks having far more Zig fragments than they can use, it's not like Zigs have much value anyways; they are far from rare. Like commemorative items, some zigs should still be earned, but I feel that the basic ZigGubanis are so common and of such limited use that they should be offered for dappers at this point. 

As for the albino mektoub skin, you missed the point there. It has nothing to do with functionality, simply the fact that a reward is given in exchange for RL money. Something that you assert is "not in the tradition of Ryzom". The point was that tradition was already broken But you didn't complain about that, so there is a double standard that makes your objection disingenuous. And calling the Albino mek irrelevant simply comes across as the sort of arrogance that does not care about thing like facts or consistency. Unless that was intentional, you might want to reconsider your approach. 

While I can see a case against offering things which do offer significant in-game benefit or have symbolic value for RL money, you are doing a poor job of making a case against Zigs by adding to the turmoil.
