I could be very wrong in my thinking right now but...I assume the prices just had this drastic jump because of all the homins running to the wheel during Atymas. A good deal of those items are tradable but no real cost to a homin besides time and possibly death penalties from tribes that still hold a grudge.
My partner in crime doesn't like to waste hard earned dappers at the wheel, she thinks only ones gained in the explorations are lucky.
(Basically, for me, it's not very convenient or cost effective to play the wheel with both Eris and Khao. Of course her dappers often trickle over to me but I can't be bothered to have 2 toons clicking the wheel, especially when the items can't be traded. The main reason why I play the wheel is for plushies and if my alt ever won one I'd be irrationally mad at her xD I had also thought there was a limit to number the fine tokens that could be purchased daily like there is with the basic and that helps to limit winnings.)
