Map markers with non-ascii characters cannot be searched for.
Thus you cannot find any string which partially matches special characters like é, è, ê, ö, ü, ä, ß etc.
They show correctly on the map. You can also enter them correctly displayed in the search window. However it will never match if one of those (and possibly other non-ascii characters is within the searched string).
You can see that something goes wrong in the mouse-over text when you search for a string with these special chars by NOT mentioning the special char in the search string:
e.g. search for "sol" which matches "désolée". The string is found, however the mouse-over over "désolée" shows the broken UTF8 support.
See this image to illustrate the issue: https://cloud.planetmaker.de/index.php/s/iwgjYYA5CoxX4jH
It's a very inconvenient behaviour if you use the map with a non-English language setting.
