Thanks a lot for your complete reply Bittymacod.
It's really true that I tend to forget about rangers (their role in Atys is underestimated). But I think Heernis was more referring to what players do and players mentality as new traditions (otherwise, marauders would also be a new tradition).
While it makes a lot of sense for some homins to try to gather the whole humanity to fight the Kitin's threat (which is already possible through the league system). And in my own opinion rangers have a better/more interesting role to play than that on Atys.
Willing to gather everyone ad vitam eternam (talking about a long term run here) will result in a flat game without spirit. Why? Because it will just vanish all the factional and nationalistic politics of the game. Once you erase all conflicts, what will rest? Fighting najabs/ploderos to finish your last masters and collects gift/eggs at each OCC events or digging to finish your last crafting branch (since there is no end-game content in Ryzom, don't talk about OPs they are a joke nowadays (only interest of having on OP is show your guild/clan/faction/nation presence in a territory and gain control of it (who said spire?)). That's our point here, what's next after your wish of removing conflict will be accomplish ?
I know that some people might answer, we will also connect to the game to talk with our friends but Ryzom is not a 3D social media as it was already mentioned.
