Even our english emote for "/silly" translates into calling someone an "idiot" for the french client, even though "idiot" in french translates directly to "idiot" in english, not "silly." "Ridicule" is probably the best translation for silly, based on how it is used in english. It should also be noted that in english "idiot" is a noun while "silly" is an adjective.
