Hello fellow Mac users!
The most up-to-date client, which has been prepared for Steam, is available at http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/, this link is also on BM site homepage. I had some trouble getting it to work, which is why I decided to type something up to help the rest of you :)
The installer doesn't seem to work, but here is a way to give the new client the files it needs.
You need to have version 2.1 installed for this to work.
So download this 'ryzom_client_steam_osx_2.1.0.64xx.zip' and this data 'ryzom_data_2.1.0.64xx.zip.' Take these from your download folder and put them somewhere convenient (I used the desktop). Now show the contents of the new ryzom client, open contents, then resources. Put the ryzom_data_2 folder into the resource folder. Next go to your applications folder and show the contents of your current ryzom client, go to that resource folder and copy the data folder, paste this into the new client's resource folder. Rename your clients as necessary and move to your application folder. Now your Steam client should be ready to go!
I have noticed so far, much smoother rendering of homins, buildings, and landscapes. Also I am able to exit to the Character Selection screen without crashing!
Well good luck and I hope we find many more things will now work with our Macs :)
