well "other" still seems to be in the percentage, its just that this poll has none voting "other" :)
I'm not opposed to "other," it is like a write-in candidate. However, not all "other" votes are alike and would have to be hand-counted to correctly determine their meaning.
And yes Talk, sometimes it seems like people are just trying to screw up the numbers by abstaining when it was included in the percentage. It was like a very passive-agressive way to oppose the author without actually taking a stand. However, Nerwane did point out that people might not want to vote if votes are public, so some might have clicked abstain just to see the results, without voting themselves.
