I have to agree to Lacuna once more that males (except Bittty) usually can't do the math (especially those calling everybody and my cat "you guys"), so some informations: MPA at master level takes 16s ca., and has a cooldown of 21min ca. (I saw minor aberrations which I widely attribute to lack of ms or tick data in system info). I leave it as an exercise to the previous poster to find out why one is not "totally safe" after having activated MPA. For somebody claiming to know about "real PvE" that should not be too hard.
When dealing with my favorite agro, namely KP, MPA in itself is no more than some help. Fully outrunning the agro range of a KP at basic speed (given you have a sensible direction to run into) takes 46s ca., a 4s MPA would give the kiros a good laugh, much more the theoretical possibility to spam that ridicule again after 2 minutes. Note that I am a fervent fan of KP, and MPA is by far not the only method to play with them. But it can be fairly useful, anyway, and would be missing when crippled.
As to the "slowness" of Ryzom: I already mentioned that the interval-action (in enchant case action-interval) combat scheme of Ryzom, with intervals from .5s to 5s, may feel slow compared to shooters and car racing games, yet that allows roughly equal chances for a wide span of hardware and connection qualities.
Still I fail to see that the aura proposal will even contribute much to improve PvP, but I leave that to others to comment. For PvE in more complicated and interesting regions, it would be a disservice. But if one does not even see the necessity to secure the fighting ground when taking on PR bosses, I doubt that this argument will be understood.
