i still have a silan alt, used mostly to help guide new players or help teach them more "mainland" tricks (taunting arken from guards, ect.)
most players (save for high level toons still there from merger) will never be able to solo the kiro, but the point there is to show the advantage to a team and power in numbers.
i do think more events would be nice in silan for new players to see that ryzom is ACTIVE even in the starter land, but they should be: (1) scavenger hunts ; (2) craft contests ; (3) bandit attacks. (and other things i can't think of)
1: players must dig X number of each of X mat's of any Q (this is silan and we want even a new level 1 toon to be able to join in) the reward could be some dappers or maybe a bulk free Q1 pick (a Q1 pick can only be used in silan and the low level zones on the ML {Q50 and below}
2: players must craft random items (based on toon race) of at least Q10 (again starter island friendly) each item would reward a sum of dappers OR a Q1 bulk free crafting tool (same tool as required for the item made, so a crafted jewel would reward a jewel crafting tool Q1 with NO bulk)
3: surely the bandits are not always going to just sit in the ruins, around arken's hill, or in the cloragoo (spelling) camp, (or that other little camp that strangely doesn't seam to be used for anything) sooner or later they'll want to attack the ranger camp, the karavan outpost, and/or the kami of the lake. the bandits in these events could drop tokens based on the level of the bandit that was killed (looting of a bandit would require the player in question to get the killing blow, similar to kitin durring an invasion) these tokens would be turned into a npc in the ranger camp for dappers, the token payout would be 10 dappers for every level of the bandit, so a level 20 bandit would pay out 200 dappers, a level 12 bandit would pay 120 dappers, ect.
those are fairly simple events that would be non-game braking and would not really provide a major reward for those (like me) that have toons both on slian and the mainland.
any one else have any thoughts or additions to what i've offered up?
