1. Saw an advert for it next to the PvP web comic. (Pretty sure it was a Project Wonderful advert.) Finally got interested enough to try it out during the gap between Nevrax and GameForge (*ptui*). Was stuck on Silan for some time.
2. As Monostone has said, Ryzom really isn't graphics *intensive*, but it is graphically based (2.5D) world. My other games had been Elder Scrolls and the Might and Magic (RPG, not RTS) sequence (and Myst). Ryzom was my first MMO. The only time I have played others was during the Dark Time.
3. Windows XP, then Windoz 7.
4. Paid for as long as payment has been an option. Currently supporting two accounts for no other reason than to support the game.
