Tryker meeting 13th October, 2014

Drezar emerged out of the Lake of Liberty with his guild in tow. Keeping a steady pace, he slowly took off his helmet and passed it to his pet Frahar which he had been training over the last week. The Frahar attempted to nibble on the helm and upon finding it tasting quite bland, he resigned to slipping it into his rucksack. Drezar strode towards the sleeping city of Fairhaven and in the moonlight spotted a patrol wandering the shores of the Lake.

His eyes narrowed and beads of sweat began to proliferate from his forehead and ambled, like tiny Bodocs, down his face. The powerful Fyros stretched out his hands and his amplifers began to glow a soft gold. Plumes of purple smoke began to fall from the amplifiers, softly catching in the air and eventually pooling at his feet. From the pool, tendrils emerged, rising and twisting, making their way towards the unsuspecting guards. As they enveloped the guards soft thumps reverberated through the sand. The smoke drifted out into the city and soon, more soft thumps followed.

Syndicate spread out through the city, hands dipping into their bags to retrieve the papers and sticking them to the posts and walls with Kirosta secretions, occasionally stepping over a sleeping guard. Once their task was complete, they looked back at their handiwork, the hundreds of posters stuck around the city, each of them pondering at the words written on them:

"The Guardians of Shadows, as protectors of the Town Min Cho, are respectfully making a request of the Zora Theocracy that Min Cho become a trading centre that is accessible to marauders, as well as all other homins.

Our reason for this is that we have a sympathy for the struggles of this collection of warriors, we all know they are the remnants of our own races who were left behind, some even say "abandoned", in the Great Swarming and had no other choice except to make great sacrifices and live by their fighting skills and their wits. It is this struggle for existance that reaches into our hearts, homins in GoS themselves have survived kitin attacks all over Atyss and particulalry in Prime Roots where the patrols have returned and the fear and consequent high level of alertness gives them an empathy with those who struggled through so many years to survive.

This was mentioned at the recent meeting with the theocracy in Min Cho and was rejected - "Tryker ways" were seen as not befitting for Zora - yet surely our dream "of a world without tyranny or intolerance" and slavery, is a dream we can all share, regardless of our race.

The Zora serve the living planet and ally themselves with Ma' Duk, our protector and the one who restores our life when we are killed in action. They built Zora in memory of those who fell during the kitin attack and were central to the Free Trade Agreement of 2516 which was seen as a "solid foundation for building future prosperity as well as interracial understanding"

Under the FTA it was stated that "The agreement grants crafters and merchants of every nation the right to operate in serenity on an international scale independent of divergences in religious beliefs and practices" - surely this should include our lost homins, the marauders?

In addition the opening of the traders at Min Cho to the rejected and abandoned marauders will increase "competitive markets to bring innovation, growth and improvement" also bringing improved quality and a better standard of living to us all. It may also "strengthen homin development in the face of natural adversity" ... the future is uncertain to all of us ...

In addition, I would like to quote from the FTA:
"Article 3 : Rules of Origin, 3.3 Every manufactured article shall bear the name or mark of its state of origin" - this being that any articles sold in Min Cho should clearly state the maker's name and the guild that they belong to

"Article 4 : Customs and duties: 4.3 Each member state shall eliminate barriers, turnpikes to facilitate cross-border movement of homins and goods" and "4.4 Each member state shall grant temporary admission to goods free of duty" - These can be seen as an opening to trading with the mauraders - who are killed as soon as they enter any other city on Atyss

"Article 5 : The Commission: 5.2 oversee its further elaboration" further elaboration of the code is expected, this could be undertaken after the trial period of free trading in Min Cho; "5.3 seek to ... facilitate trade relations" again we need to follow the ideals of the agreement to see where this facilitation leads us.

Furthermore - this is no "Tryker frivolity" but is part of the essence of the Zora race itself and this would not be the first time Zora's have benefitted from the mauraders, a further quote, from the Medic - A Zoraï occupation "... some Zoraï scientists got their hands on an amber cube from the Old Lands that contained lost knowledge of the Medic occupation. Nobody's quite sure where it came from, though accusations fly that they purchased it from the Marauders ..."

Without trade - there can be no alternative to the protections we already have ... again it may be that we need to prepare ourselves for an uncertain future ..."

Perhaps, Virg thought, a certain Trykerette needed reminding of what once was.
