Dear all,
oren pyr, Deles Silam, Lordoy, Kamia'ata, Bankun
Ten years have passed since the game launch, which followed four years of development. With their joys and their worries, their victories and sacrifices. But Ryzom is still here, alive and kicking!
We wish before everything else to pay homage to all those who have created this universe and this game, who have imagined and developed them, and helped them to grow.
We also have fond memories and friendly thoughts for the Nevrax team, of course, but also those from Cryo who were a part of the Lore writing, from MDO, Themis and Jolt for the support and animation, from Bjørn Arve Lagim for the music composition, from Gameforge, and finely from Spiderweb that has become Winch Gate Property.
But Ryzom wouldn't be what it is today without the hundreds of volunteers who have put in, throughout these ten years, their passion, their talent and their efforts for the good of the game and its community; whether they belong to technical support and community management team, or to the animation team, to the translators, or the many volunteer developers of Ryzom Core. The whole Ryzom team wish to express to them its enormous gratitude.
Finally, thanks to all of you, players and fans of our universe and of our game, Ryzomians. This world has existed now for a decade, and lives at the pace of Atys seasons, and it is above all thanks to you, for your passion and your faithfulness. We owe you this adventure that is still going on, after ten years.
Ryzom's story doesn't end here. Quite the opposite. Ryzom continues, more faithful every day to the ambitions of the ones who work it at its heart: every step we make, takes us closer to the Open world, just lately with the publication of all the games artworks under Creative Commons Licence (CC-by-SA). Started last July, Ryzom Forge gives fans who possess or wish to learn the neccessary skills, more than ever, the means to contribute to the game and to the universes evolution: technical and artistic features start taking shape, and Ryzom Forge ambitions and goals are set high. The Lore, now partly public on the Ryzom Wiki, got the setting that it needed to come to fruition and to grow, always respecting and continuing its origins from 2004. ARCC development is on the increase with the addition of new Missions and Rites content to come, but also with the opening of this marvelous tool to the masses, in the near future.
So, ten years have passed, full of discoveries and pleasures, some glitches on occasion, but always of sharing and amusement together. Yet, the future promises to be even brighter, and the promise of seeing the Ryzom we have dreamed of has never been so close to reality as it is today. The path is still long, but it does exist. And we can walk it together.
Happy birthday to all of you, and long live Ryzom!
