I have done a lot of PR digging recently and had a lot of fun fooling the KP in a team of two (me and my subbed alt, my ingame sister Diwu). The baseline is having a good detection macro, using it; always having an eye at the compass, set at 250m; watching - you can spot a KP from about 400m in regions with free sight.
It is important to have good knowledge of terrain, season, and mob situation, always knowing where to run and where better not. KP does not pursue beyond 250m (unless one chooses to taunt them when they lose agro, in that case they pursue further 150m ca. - Diwu and me tried to pull a KP from wings of spite farm to the Keepers but failed). When healing one another by amp enchant it is not hard to survive that distance, especially when the rear runner is wearing HA. Another funny technique is running into 2 different directions, the KP then splits and loses agro earlier.
Granted, some regions are a bitch, even without KP, and when KP comes along there in the wrong moment, you'll be doomed. Much more you'll be when not vigilant, but that is the point of KP. But, different from pre merge times, I did not experience crossing of 3 KP at places one could not avoid - indeed I more seldom experience 2 KP at a time in the same place.
Mind that Diwu and me are neutral, meaning we have to walk everywhere and can't teleport except death tp to the vortexes. I do not consider PR unaccessible, though.
What I hate most is AoI ;) - the region is far to small for the number of KP, and it is extremely hard to clear spots by killing agro between two appearances of KP. As it is only 200 region, I avoid it most time.
