I thought about that. I love the possibility of a small team to sneak in and "steal" the larvae, and it would be pity to remove it as it is fun and thrill.
So I would suggest: The 2 (or more with Egiros) larvae kept as a default. Only after the death of the Kidinak and all her guards the additional 4-5 spots would be available for a limited time (5-10 minutes max). Afterwards, the spot would remain empty until next kidinak and guards demise.
That would preserve the fun for daring adventurers while not opening for abuse.
Edit: Even extending the reward for the "thieves" to 10 per season would be ok imho ;)
