If the team needs to recruit German CSRs I hope they won't loose their time translating the annoncement in French, Spanish, English, Russian etc... because it's only aimed at people who can read German.
WG is a very small compagny with few employees, and translations are mostly done by volunteers. It would be nice to have a translation for everything, but it would mean more work for volunteers.
I don't understand why some English-speakers complain like this again and again and dare calling themselves "second zone citizens".
Do you think that the French translation is perfect ? Do you think that the Frenchies enjoy the best in-game experience because everything is made for them ?
I can insure you that the French translation of this game is far to be perfect. I played in both languages and the English version of the game is way more coherent than the French one.
To give you examples, many locations are poorly translated and the very same place may have different names depending of the context (map, missions, NPC, tribes, outpost, etc). The Knoll of Dissent may be called "Tertre de la Dissidence", or "Monticule du Dissentiment"; The "Barkers" tribe is called "Percécorces" but the Barker Dunes are called "Dunes de Barker"... where is the logic ? And even more wierd, the Plam valley is called "Valée des Palmiers" (Palm Trees Valley) when "palm" should mean "hand" because there is a giant hand structure in this area, and no palm trees... d'oh!
These are just few examples but I hope you will realise how it's very easy to get confused when you play with the French version. So the grass is not greener for the French.
All the bandits names are not even translated and still appear in English. We have missions saying things like "Vous devez tuer 4 wicked winds of the west". This is bad. What would be your reaction if all your bandit missions were half translated ? (something like "you must kill 4 mauvais vents d'ouest")
So it is not true nor fair to say that non-French-speakers are second zone citizens.
On French boards there is a sticky titled "Correction des fautes des textes du jeu" (Correction of ingame text mistakes) where players are still reporting mistakes or bad translations to help improving the game translation in French. And this is done without complaints or aggressivity.
Yes this game translations are far to be perfect, but what do you expect with such a small team ? They have limited ressources and must make choices. I wouldn't put full translations on the top of the to-do list. And the French one is not better than the English one. We've learned to deal with that, why can't you ?
