I decided to RIP this apart!
Take a good look at the Events forums. The Matis players are arrogant, (arrogantly telling me that i distort THEIR history and MY history count for bowine dung.) greedy for power (attempting to exclude all other nations from events) but also egoist and ruthless, (Egoist by being offended and asking for a change of how they are being depicted, ruthless byt not caring how it will affect others who also play here for years.) endangering the environment of the planet by dangerous experiments ( as in the past and now the meeting they are about to have they want to conduct experiments that have been deemed unsafe and dangerous by the Rangers. Completely disregarding the warnings and figures presented.) Yes there are some flaws and drawbacks mentioned for the other nations as well, especially for the Trykers, they a kinda being depicted as little thieving treasure seekers. As for positive attributes, oh yes there are mentions of that too, but you are not paying any attention to it at all. The entire Silan is part of the Old World of the Matis people. The Ruins of Silan is complimenting the great skills the Matis have at architecture and craftsmanship. Geez! All the Fyros get is being hotheaded and always looking for a fight. Thus them being good hunters.
Yes we are forced. We are forced now too to either become Matis Citizens or Karavan Champions to attend their Event. We aren't given the choice of remaining what we are, and enjoy the game together as we would like.
Yes, yet many of the Matis players have chosen to help the Matis and turn a blind eye, I'm sure. But it's how it is. I prefer to have a Choice then to have no other choice but to help the Matis get their ways.
Please make a mention of those Virtues. The fact that the Matis are excellent at Architecture and craftsmanship is already there. What else is there? Being excellent at causing trouble and sparking wars isn't a virtue. And on all 3 of the servers the story line was the a Matis extremist group sparked a war between Matis and Fyros by poisoning the Emperor. The group formed because they felt that the king at the time was becoming 'weak' and unfit to rule. Was not fit to be called Matis.
No oath should be demanded whatso ever. No others demand of you such things. Here again you display irrational 'fear for the safety of the Matis'.
So you would remove our choice, our free will if we want to help the Matis who created those things so they can cover it up? By either giving the Samples to Sterga who will give it to the Academy, or another Matis who will do just the same...
In all this all you are trying to do is COVER UP the fault of the Matis. Not change their nature. So, who is more guilty? The one who commits the murder or the one covering it up?

In the mission sequence for crafters, crafting master Sterga Hamla displays a very negative impression of the Matis people. Additionally, there are some contradictions in the mission series, all of that creating problems for roleplayers.
The problems are the following:
Matis players get a very negative impression of their own people, being not only arrogant and greedy for power and control, but also egotist and ruthless, endangering the environment of the planet by dangerous experiments. While some drawbacks and flaws of the other peoples are mentioned only casually, few if any positive attributes are mentioned for the Matis people.

Non Matis players are forced to swear allegiance to the Matis nation, an oath they are likely (and heavily influenced by the mission texts) to break at the end of the last mission of that series.

At the end of the series the players are given a pseudo choice pro or counter the Matis, but those choosing the pro Matis path are repeatedly warned that they are doing something wrong and unethical. Indeed, it is no real choice.

I suggest to modify these traits in the mission series, without touching the actions and mechanics of the missions proper, in order to present a more balanced picture of the Matis people. Mainly texts and dialogues would have to be adjusted as following:
1. There should be more mention of the virtues of the Matis which earn them respect among reasonable homins of all peoples, namely a pursuit of excellence and perfection, a sense for aesthetics and harmony, which makes them masters in crafting and gardening.
2. An oath of allegiance should be demanded only from Matis players. Non Matis players should rather be asked to promise not to abuse what they are tought, and not to turn it against the Matis people during their apprenticeship (Sterga Hamla cannot be so irrealistic to assume that he can bind the homins to that for their lifetime).
No oath should be demanded whatso ever. No others demand of you such things. Here again you display irrational 'fear for the safety of the Matis'.

3. The tendency of the end mission should be changed. Sterga Hamla should tell that he needs the samples sent to the academy in the capital for the purpose that Matis scientists find out what has gone wrong in Silan, in order to find out better ways to control and overcome the rogue plants, and to decide whether such modifications can be made in a safer way or have to be abandoned altogether. It is then up to the player either to trust Sterga Hamla and the Matis or not. The samples should not be given to the Zorai NPC Aryu Ken, but to some Matis NPC replacing him. That one should not display a bad conscience like Aryu Ken, but thank and encourage the player.
