Dear players,
Since Wednesday, June 5, you may have noticed some changes and disruptions in the services relating to Ryzom.
We are performing a gradual migration of the various elements needed to play (Database, Web, Chat CEB, game servers, etc..) to new, more efficient servers.
In the first phase, on Wednesday, June 5, we migrated the MySql database. That's why the server reboot took longer than usual. The chat servers were also moved at the same time.
During the second phase, Tuesday, June 11, we successfully migrated all web services (www.ryzom.com, app.ryzom.com, api.ryzom.com, etc ...).
The transition of the servers caused some minor disruptions to the game, this was reflected by a temporary interruption (24 hours maximum) of the many services related to the WebIG, due to an unavoidable propagation delay of DNS (update addresses app.ryzom.com/api.ryzom.com pointing to the correct server).
Everything should now be back to normal. However, should any problems still persist we will put every effort into fixing them quickly.
The next step, which the date will be communicated later, will be a full migration of the game server services to 64-bit Linux.
The purpose of this reinstall is to improve the server memory management and general performance, as well as to reduce the frequency of random system crashes.
This operation will last for a whole day and require many steps, including backup, formatting, OS reinstallation, Ryzom reinstallation, backup restoration, services relaunch, tests, and finally making available to players.
Considering the complexity of the whole process, the time for the reopening of the server may be only very approximate.
We wish a good gaming on Atys and hope to update you on the migration date as it comes to hand.
The Ryzom Team.
Note: If you notice errors or link redirection problems on your browser, try to clear the cache and restart. If the problem persists, do not hesitate to contact a CSR by the usual means (in game, ticket or by mail).
