Kalean -- Actually, upon re-reading the lore on the plants it appears that only the psykopla have mind-control powers. The others do not.

So how do you explain the cratchakin behaviour ?
Anyway those "intelligent" plants all have defense systems to protect them -whatever it is- and that's why herbies don't eat them.
