Jarnys (atys)
Zelirr (atys)Bitttymacod (atys)By opening them in separate tabs and switching back and forth I was able to see the difference. However, you still have not answered my question about improving gameplay. Does pushing this off onto the GPU help with framerate and responsiveness?
It's quite the contrary, it needs more power from the graphic card to run. But Ryzom is mainly limited by its old engine that can only use a fraction of current graphic card power.
It's obvious that the load on the GPU (graphic card) is increased - the question was though if the load on the CPU (main processor) would be reduced.
Which is something I'd like to know as well ;-)
Unfortunately no, we would have to optimize the Ryzom engine (and I do not have the skills to do so) in order to reduce the load on the CPU.
