re: There and Back Again

It was a short announcement event. Took about 10 minutes to announce in each of the three major game languages first a new set of missions, and secondly a new transport system, to be made available at a later time.

The story is that some weird Trykers (aren't they all?) want to offer a new, cheap transportation system from each of the capitals into their respective smaller settlements (e.g. from Zora to Hoi-Cho, Min-Cho and Jen-Lai). The transport will be granted at unbelievably low prices (to be announced later).

In order for this system to be built, this Tryker company required the aid of us homins to transport material. So near (more or less) each capital there is a new homin, called "builder" that deals out paket missions. You can take one paket every 30 minutes and deliver it to one of the smaller settlements (you choose, any will do). There you deliver the package to another "builder" Tryker.

Each package takes 95 bulk in your inventory, but can be carried without needing Mektoubs. When taking on a package you've got to pay a deposit of 1000 dappers. Upon delivery you'll be granted back 10k dappers as a reward. Your fame is not affected.

You could carry multiple packages at the same time, but you can get only one package every 30 minutes across all of Atys. So it's not worthwhile to teleport to another capital to get packages quicker.

Once enough packages are delivered, those missions will stop and the transport system will be established.

The goal for the transport system is to support the local language communities and their roleplay events. Without the system only homins who have choosen a religion, and the right one for that country, can actually teleport close to their community. With the new system everybody can. However those of the matching religion still have the advantage of a direct teleport from wherever they are, whereas neutrals and those of opposing religion have to teleport first to the capital, and then use the secondary teleport system.

How that new system will look like, operate, and what it will be costing is unknown to us.

The builders are located south of Fairhaven, near Min-Cho in the Jungle, near the palms in the little canyon pass in Imperial Dunes, and on the Psykopla Hill in Matia.
Thus all of them should be reachable for low level homins, but you have to be careful and be able to kill the odd level 20-30 Goari or Gingo. To run the packages itself you need to know the way. The worse you are in sneaking the more levels you need or the more friends should protect you. But as a level 30 you should be very fine, indeed.
Thus it is a nice way to produce income for low level homins right now.

(Kudos to Zhoi for writing a nice summary in German, which I have translated, very loosely.)
(Disclaimer: Haven't done the mission yet. Last night, after the event, the builder south of Fairhaven was already there to greet me, but he wouldn't hand me a package.)
