Today I thought I'd start a diary. Mom will be very happy to read it when she gets back, and she'll be proud of the exploits I'll write about.

I'm so glad Lyren gave me a Fyros Legions badge, the guild hall is so pretty. At first, she didn't want me to go through the rite of entry. But I managed to convince her. It's coming soon.

The armor she gave me is great! Plus they're red, great! And it's so cool to fight with a one-handed sword. The shookis and gingos better watch their backs now.

I met a lot of nice people who like to drill. There was Kyriann, a funny Tryker with pink hair. She says Lyren isn't nice, but it's not true. And then there's Ranphilter. A Tryker who wears big "hydrodynamic" glasses. And then I dug with a group of four fyros homines. They must be related.

I hope I'll soon be able to dig even better. It's archi Kroolus to drill

Lyren said I'd passed the rite. I beat her in the race to Thesos and showed that I could fight that nasty Ibakus. Now I shout like a legionnaire: cal i selak !!!!!!!

It's weird that Lyren is friends with an orskos named Cinabre. But I don't think she's really friends with him.

I drilled again with the four Fyros homines. The tallest is Karnij. She's nice too. She gave me a zig gubani. I don't know what I'm going to call him, but he's really cute.

now I've discovered the lakes. And the jungle too, but it's all misty and damp. The lakes are kroolyx. All full of sawdust and water, full full full of water.

The Trykers of the black dragons showed me some pretty mountains full of cloppers. Lyren was funny. She got caught in their clutches.

The Trykers also told me about the clap clap. It must be a water dragon. They have the clap clap. We have fyrak.

Fyrak doesn't swim. He has to crawl very deep under the sawdust.

I wonder if the Zorais also have their own dragon. It must be a flying dragon to hide in the mist.

I don't wonder about orskos.

There was also the orskos who seems to be a real friend of Lyren. He says his mother was Fyros, but I think that's to make himself more accepted. That's an orskos thing. It's sneaky

The only good thing about him is that he has brown hair like me and green eyes, too.

It's hard to write anything today, since I know Mom will never read these lines now.

I was able to sleep through the night at the barracks, but I think I cried in my sleep. My eyes are all dry and my pillow is damp

I have to be a great fyros and keep training, with Ran for example. To make Mom proud of me, of where she is.

I've started training again. The one-handed sword is a good weapon. It's handy, fast and sharp. I hope I'll soon become a swordswoman, or even better, a master swordsman.

I recently trained with a fyros who lives in the Lakes. His name is Zoloff.

Lyren agreed to be my new mom, but she seemed to mind me calling her that. And Kyriann is willing to be my Mamy. It was great fun building this new family at the bar. But Eolinius, the Tryker ambassador, was sad. He said it made him feel old.

The orskos didn't look very cheerful either. He has a bad taste for the bottle, I think. He didn't scold me when I sent him a water bomb to sober him up. Either he's understanding - but for an orskos that would be strange - or he was scared of Lyren who was standing next to me.

I saw sharükos for the first time. He's a real class act with his shiny armor and his big sword! We went to see the Renegades, for something called diplomacy, I think. But on the way back we were ambushed.

What a superb fight there was against the fyrakists! I was a bit scared, though. I spoke to Ranphilter about it. He told me that it doesn't matter if you're scared, as long as you face up to it.

We also talked about orskos. I hear Cinabre isn't all that dull. After all, he was there during the battle in the Towers of Frahars. And it's true that he fought well. I think it's because his mother was Fyros.

I find it odd that Lyren doesn't like me calling her Mum. I'll have to ask her why.

I came back from Fairhaven with my arms full.

There was a crazy crowd at this Marché des Petits. Mamyky made me some beautiful Greslin picks, Ranphilter a Tryker rondache, funny Jorgensen a Zoraie hatchet and my big brother Cinabre - can you believe it, dey? - a jungle ornament. I'm just hesitant to wear the earrings. I don't think Mama Lyren would be very happy if I wore them.

In a few days, there'll be an expedition to the Fyrakists. Mama Lyren told me not to go. I'm ashamed of myself because I would have been too scared to go. Next time, I'll have practiced and won't be so scared... I hope.

I stand by what I wrote about the one-handed sword. It's a very good weapon, especially when you master it better every day. Lyren will be proud when I reach the 25th Circle of Proficiency.

Cinabre gives me the creeps with the way she questions me. It must be an orskos thing to dig into the past.

Speaking of orskos, I came across two fine specimens. Duke and his cousin Grobilo. Duke... I can't even remember his full name! Just a name... orskos!
