Give us More storage! Maybe a dapper sink, (Charge us dappers to have it!) Some how, some way. I can live with different suggestions, but figure it out please!

I think we have enough storage. What do you need to store?

Too much outpost mats probably :P

That's not storing, that's hoarding! :)

For more storage, why not add a storage building for outpost and remove GH access from there too.

Ideally, a super small storage, so you have to manually transfer your OP goodies to your GH every day.

This is not a new issue. Far from it.

Sadly, I think that calls for more storage will continue to be met with a lot of folks piping up about the evils of hoarding and how the game should be less convenient and how we have too many mats in circulation, how mats should rot if left in storage, and basically going on about how the best solution is to not have anyone ever be able to obtain enough stuff for storage to be an issue. Or maybe simply calls to craft more and a counter-proposal to make gear wear out far quicker to make more crafting mandatory for all. I say that because it's happened before. Not just once either.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but if the past (including a few comments here) are any indication, then the only way the storage issue will be resolved is if someone takes advantage of the terms of the open-source license and makes a fork project with improved storage.

If you want to make an outpost for every non-alt guild then sure, that might work. But if you simply try to railroad folks into making membership in one of half a dozen uber-guilds in order to have more storage, you'll see server population drop a bit.

Do not assume that you speak for all just because you are the loudest voice; there are many who disagree that simply have no desire to waste words on you.

I also want a button to have max level, NPCs that teleport me anywhere, and a button to insta-kill any target.

I'd honestly like to know what the use case for more storage is.

for all the different possible crafting goals that i (already have) i need to obtain and first store away lots of mats or loot of different kinds for the various types of items i intend to craft. Interim storage capacity invariably lies far below what would be useful in order to craft from that storage. That forces an accumlation first in weit from the mats or loot source locations, necessitating extenuated travel and prolonged accumulatory escapades in order to eventually reach a sufficiently large stock out of which to craft as intended.

The call for greater such storage capacity seems quite reasonable to me in view of such need.

So it's mainly materials that are causing the need for storage, not equipment, right?

For my part: yes indeed that is the case.

Well, that sort of "easy mode" would remove the gaming elements from is almost as thoroughly as not having any sort of game mechanics at all. And I know a ton of folks here are sickened at folks treating an RPG as a game instead of RP polluted by the foul taint of gaming elements, so yeah, I believe that. In fact, you'll have a bit of a hard time convincing me that you were being sarcastic there after what I've seen here over the years.

If mats took notably less bulk than they currently do then we probably wouldn't keep having this conversation over and over again. I don't think I know anyone who has issues storing gear who isn't in that position solely because their crafting mats take so much space. Of course, we could get around the need for more bulk if we made all mats (Sups, OP, Bosses...) more plentiful and thus negated the need to store them, but I don't think that's a good solution.

Regardless of whether you call it storing or hoarding, whether it's mats or gear, the simple truth is that you won't get people to stop being people. Personally, I favor a solution that involves no longer needing tons of storage guilds led by lvl 1 alts, and having a more reasonable Homin/Player ratio with far fewer alt-guilds. An option that allows those that consider storage a bad thing the same way they consider TPs or non-PvP zones bad to be perfectly free to refrain from going beyond the storage they have now, just as those who hate the existence of TPs are free to walk, but allow those that aren't super-duper hardcore "Ryzom is a story, and it should be hard and un-fun!" to do their thing too.

I'm only talking about an improvement for the outpost. If you are against giving more interest on already existing mecanics on Atys, just say it.

And by the way, the server population decrease at every patch right now, so improving what already exist can't degrade the situation.

I prefer this solution, it is more thought out than boosting storage. It makes sense as well, since materials can be stored more compactly than crafted items with bulky shapes.

I'll be for it.
But it does have others impacts: more mats in player bags means more ammo to craft for an example.
