Let's start with the news from the Ryzom team. My two main roles are to manage the Ryzom team and its projects, as well as to ensure external communication and communication with the players. But for that to happen, it takes time. A lot of time. This means that I must be assisted at maximum by assistants in each team in order to be able to free up time and focus on these two roles. This is resulting in the following changes:
  • Tykus becomes my assistant on the management side of the Ryzom team. Tykus replaces me as "Support Head"
  • Jayvaraman becomes my Marketing Assistant
  • Arionasis assists me with Communication.

Since the last time, I mainly work on categorization of the wikis, so that it fits to various users. Users as well as developers, animators, expect to easily find their documentary spaces, while at the other extreme the players of each language group have their interests that do not necessarily converge. In between, it is worthwhile that game guides and tips are comparable and easily accessible.

The idea is to create four roots:
  • Encyclopatys for all
  • Wikipatys, the toolbox of our wikis
  • Forge
  • Lore

Encyclopatys presents branches which match the various common interests of the game, as "How to craft?", "Who are the Fyros?", etc. These first branches are the guides for the 5 linguistic wikis, but the small branches and the leaves are the free story of each one. I wrote down this plan which will be achieved in a week or so (my hope). I'm done, and a big thank to Nilstilar

Q : On wiki, we can't upload pictures any. When will the issue be resolved?
A : Uploading to Ryzom Commons is working!

Event Launchers

I would now like to introduce you to a new team about to be created: the "Event Launchers" team.

Observation: we currently have a problem: we have scripted OOC events (mini-boss and invasions), a tool to launch them simply (needs only to select and click) but... nobody or almost nobody is therer to launch them.
Reason: it is not the role of the actors to launch scripted OOC events, nor the one of the Arkitects who created these events.
Result: too few scripted OOC events are launched.
Solution: creation of a team (NDA + RF) whose role will be to launch these events: the "Event Launchers" team.

Q : What privileges?
A : Event Launchers will be able to run scripts on Atys, but without being able to read them or read other "Atys" scripts.

Q : How to launch these events?
A : There is a dedicated tool, very easy to use. There's only need to stay in the game until the mobs spawn.

Q : When to launch these events and which ones?
A : There will be a schedule to follow.

Q : Who can apply?
A : All members of the Ryzom team (NDA or RF). We will start with the NDAs, while we check that the access and privileges are adequate, but anyone can apply now to Tamarea

Q : NDA is Ryzom Team?
A : The Ryzom team is composed of members under NDA and members who are not under NDA. These are commonly referred to as "Ryzom Forge". NDA = Non-disclosure agreement

Q : What makes the difference? Do NDA teamers have more privileges?
A : All those who help to improve and develop the game are part of the Ryzom team. They work together on a daily basis, without differentiation, on an equal footing. The only difference is in access: a player who is not under NDA cannot, for example, access the primitives (he must sign an NDA for that). Some teams are entirely under NDA: Support, Animation, Lore. All the others are mixed. This allows players who wish to come and help easily within a team or project.

Q : A whole team to just click a button for some Event that already exist... Sounds like a minor task to dedicate to a special team, doesn't it ?
A : From that point of view, yes. But in practice, almost each of us is part of several teams and our time is more than limited. Having dedicated people will therefore be of great help, even if this help is to be casual. The question is a good way for me to make the transition to the next topic: Recruitment.

This week, I would like to highlight the following three teams: Ark, Event and Event Launchers. We pay very well in virtual cookies and coffee! In fact, our best reward is the smiles of the players. It's for them that we're all here! :) The common point between all those of the Ryzom team is that they love this game and have chosen to give a little of their time for it and its community. Some have a lot of time to devote to it, others have very little time, but it doesn't matter. Because all together, step by step, we are making progress. A number of new features and improvements are in progress. But we still have bottlenecks: teams in insufficient supply. And that's where we need recruits.
  • Ark team (optional NDA): to work on Ark, the tool which allows creation of game content (Pocket Worlds, but also missions, rites, bosses, scripted events, etc.)
  • Event Launcher (optional NDA): (see above for explanations)
  • Event team (mandatory NDA): to play as an actor during roleplay events

Q : Will there be Atymas killeable Trees as part of Atymas events?
A : We will not hand over the Trees this year. They will come back next year. ;)

Q : Do you have any clue why Yule pants are broken and if they will be winnable?
A : We have to partially redesign it, especially the reward part, and the time frame will be too short for that.

Q : Will Yubokin last only during Atymas or will it be added to the game permanetly? Would it have a different looking or is it just a giant Yubo?
A : Yubokin will be a permanent boss on Silan. It will have a boss texture.

Q : What is wrong about Atymas Tree rewards, if you may elaborate on that point?
A : Since we created the new Wheel, all "durable" lots go through it. OOC events allow you to win consumables and/or tokens from this Wheel. The prizes that were previously found in loots are now winnable at the Wheel, as well as new prizes.

Q : What about the Yubohoo? He won't spawn this year either??
A : There will be an announcement listing the events of Atysmas 2018. There should be something for everyone to enjoy.

Il y a en a pour tous les niveaux : refaire les icônes dans une meilleure résolution (pour amélioration de l'interface utilisateur - voir ci-dessous), créer de nouvelles icônes, des décorations d'appartement, des objets popables, des équipements, des bâtiments… Mais aussi créer des prospectus pour annoncer un patch, illustrer une publication, aider sur le site web…

Le plan d'actions de marketing de Ryzom pour 2019 est bouclé et a été utilisé comme base pour préparer la planification générale de l'année pour toute l'équipe Ryzom. Cette planification générale séquence 2019 en années de Jena (dites « JA »). Chaque JA, nous travaillerons sur plusieurs catégories de tâches dont les principales sont les suivantes :
  • Contenu en jeu – Nouveau contenu, améliorations, corrections de bogues exploitables ou non, évènements, récompenses.
  • Visibilité – Nouveau site Web, wikis Ryzom, Forum, page Steam Ryzom, AppStore, Réseaux sociaux.
  • Communication – Promotion des patchs JA et des events, communiqués de presse, amélioration de la recherche de mots-clés / SEO*, présence sur les sites web et forums…
  • Bénévoles – Recrutement et formation.

Informations diverses

  • Un scénario de Saga est en préparation qui sera utilisé lors d'évènements joués régulièrement en 2019. (Nous avons davantage de membres au sein de l'équipe d'animation cette année, assez pour redémarrer les évènements roleplay sur une base régulière.)
  • Correction du problème bloquant l'envoi d'une partie des réponses aux tickets depuis plusieurs semaines, voire plusieurs mois. (Si vous avez envoyé un ticket à et que vous attendez toujours une réponse, veuillez nous recontacter SVP.)
  • Correction d'un bogue de l'API.
  • Mini-patch appliqué sur Atys pour corriger le bogue de la reconnexion en territoire Fyros lorsque le personnage était déconnecté dans un appartement, un Hall de guilde ou sous l'Éditeur Scénographique.
  • La correction du bogue de la mission K/K Oflovak (défaut de validation) est en test sur Atys puisque le bogue n'existe pas sur Yubo (serveur de test).
  • Correction du repop d'Aen après qu'elle ait buggé.
  • Statue d'Ashuleila : elle a enfin été érigée, mais hélas, elle n'a pas résisté à une forte tempête survenue la nuit dernière. Et notre planning ne nous permet pas de la reconstruire… Nous en reparlerons donc en 2050.

Q : Une indication sur la date de résolution du bogue de l'inventaire (le filtre par click sur « ? » est désormais inopérant) et de celui du groupe d'objets (la liste affichée des objets équipés est fautive) ?
R :
Nous y travaillons activement et devrions bientôt aboutir. Comme indiqué plus haut, le bogue qui empêchait l'envoi de réponse aux tickets est désormais corrigé et nous en profitons pour améliorer leur suivi (accusé de réception indiquant le numéro du ticket, notamment). Il demeure toutefois recommandé aux joueurs émettant des tickets de toujours utiliser la même adresse courrielle pour échanger avec l'équipe sur un même ticket.

Q : Pourrais-je intégrer l'équipe 3D pour aider à la reconstruction de la statue de ma chef, la divine Ashuleila, déesse d'Atys et mère des Homins ?
R :
Alors euh... la porte est grande ouverte pour intégrer l'équipe 3D (et les besoins sont grands !) Cookies et boissons virtuelles offertes ! Quant à la fameuse statue, elle est prévue pour 2050 donc il va falloir travailler sur autre chose en attendant…

Q : Peut-on espérer un petit peu voir des kitins remonter des Primes Racines ?
R :
Les kitins envahisseurs ne devraient être inconnus de personne en 2019... loin de là !

Q : Pourrait-on avoir quelques informations sur la Saga à venir ?

Maintenance et améliorations
  • Ultime équilibrage du jeu Ranger : ajout de points de résurrection aux Voies des régions 250 et des Primes, rapprochement des Voies des capitales d'un téléporteur K et déplacement de la Voie des Terres Abandonnées vers le Point du Milieu.
  • Amélioration de l'interface utilisateur : il s'agit seulement d'une première étape, car il y a beaucoup à faire. Mais nous continuerons !
  • Amélioration du navigateur WebIG.
  • Jeu Maraudeur : nouvelle boutique de recharge des cristaux téléporteurs et nouvelle couleur des mêmes afin qu'on ne les confonde pas avec des cristaux de sève.
  • Suppression du statut neutre en zone de combat des batailles d'Avant-poste.
  • Correction d'un bogue des feux de camp (vu qu'il s'agit d'un bogue exploitable, je n'en dirai pas plus).

Patch JA 2602 (Tykus)

The planned patch has been delayed due to the test server. It was postponed by a week.

Redesign of range weapons (Tykus)

The redesign of the range will go into public test mode at the end of the week. We need volunteers to carry out these tests, especially in PVP. For those who are interested in participating in the tests and who do not yet have access to the test server, contact Tamarea.

Q: Will there be a scheduled time, to get the most people around at once?
R: We will try to organize in session (several are possible depending on availability), otherwise the tests will not be done in good conditions.

Ryzom Forge meeting report – March 4th, 2019

New servers (Tykus)

We decided to change [the servers] (staying at OVH) for cheaper and much more efficient servers, which should considerably improve game performances. It's always ssd stuff.
We also acquired a 2nd test server (named Gingo) which [...] will be a mirror of Atys, which will allow us to manage any bugs as closely as possible.
Finally, the billing server will also be replaced.
All these changes have been validated by Winch Gate and are already underway.

Q: Will recurent billing be impacted?
R: No, the billing datas will be moved on the new server.

Q: Support level (OVH one) will remain the same?
R: Yes, the same level of support as before.

Range weapons refactoring (Tykus)

The shooting tests are entering the 2nd week of testing, we will carry out team tests, for this you need a significant number of players present at each session. We need shooters but also tanks and mages (off and heal). The more numerous we will be, the more effective the tests will be and the closer to reality.

To join the tests (everybody’s welcome even newbies):
  • Report your availability in channel #t-test, if you already have an access to the test server
  • If not, contact Tamarea as soon as possible on Rocket-chat or by email to

Q: Refactoring? Rebalance or a complete re-creation ?
R: Rebalance + minor changes.

Q: Will it impact current lvl of players?
R: No, lvl won't change, only receipes will slightly change and the range weapon strategy.

Q: Will the mass of ammo change?
R: Yes, and the space taken too.

PVP 2.0 (Tykus)

The first things we will modify/add will be:
- the gain of PVP points in PVP primes roots ;
- the addition of "Resurrection NPCs" in the arenas (which will allow you to resurrect directly in the arena when you die there. From a PR point of view, they will be healers (resuscitators).
These two amendments are part of a broader plan to reform/refresh the PVP.
The whole plan will be implemented over the next few months, in various small patches and not during a large one, […] allowing us to better manage any remaining bugs.

Q: New PVP area?
R: Not for the moment, we'll make the one we have more interesting.

Guild Island feedback (Tykus)

The guilds islands have been implemented with the latest patch. What do you think about them? What improvements would you like to have in the future? Do you encounter technical problems?

New interface for teleports

To introduce this project, i would like to talk about the current teleportation system, which is starting to be old now.

The religious factions are using what we call pacts, imagined as a pearl for Kamis and ticket for Karavan. It allows one player to teleport easily over the world of Atys, by and using the law of the Powers. In Gameplay it is related to having one pact per zone in the inventory. As you know already, when one pact is used a player needs to replace it manually by buying a new pact from an altar. It is approximately 45+ pacts in the bag, and takes 0.2 bulk each pact.

So, here is the original request:
So players did request a modernized interface, as an answer to this we will provide you an easy to use interface client side. It will act as a container for existant in-bag pacts. Important note: the system is local and without any loading time over network, so it do not rely on ARK (like some players asked). Since it is based on a booklet method one player can also use the old teleportation system. It is elastic enough to be used in a lot of different ways, depending the situation. Alright, to finish, It will have also an auto pacts feature, sort of "click & forget" option allowing a player to buy pact automatically without clicking on the altar every time.

I hope you will be happy with this new system, I will monitor the feedback with care ! :) Any questions?

PS: One more thing, to introduce the new system we will remove the bulk of teleportation pact for everyone.

Q: Same for all factions (Rangers use Kami/Kara TP too)?
For now we are discussing about it, but Rangers do have already a teleportation system.

Q (to Inky): Kinda of out of topic question, but, who are you?
A (by Tamarea):
Inky will take care of developing the players' ideas the team will validate. This first idea is therefore the beginning of a long list!

Q: Will this avoid "cheat" TP as we used to have in marauder faction (i.e teleporting on water, while sitting, while being invu, etc.)?
The system will use mainly the old teleportation code, it only add booklets. So these bugs won't happen.

Q: When will this be available? And for whom? (All users? Patch needed?)
It's scheduled for JY 2603's patch (around mid-April) and the system is meant to be used by Karavan and Kami factions.

Q: And what about Neutrals?
We are discussing it, an expansion for neutral is possible but not for now. As you can see in the original request, we want to encourage and provide content addition for Karavaneers and Kamists. But, as said, the old system can still be used by everyone.

Q: Will we retain the pacts acquired before the new system?
You will retain old pacts, yes - not to mention they will not have any bulk now too.

New servers

  • The new "Gingo" test server is installed. It is an Atys mirror, which will be used exclusively for pre-patch tests.
  • The billing server has just been changed. The switch from the old to the new was smooth, although it caused two days of blocking account creation and subscriptions via WorldPay . Everything has been operational again for a few hours. From now on, replaces
  • A new storage server has just been purchased, it will be activated soon.

Status of the Ryzom Wiki (Zorroargh)

The merge of the Forge and the Lore is [...] completed. But, as patrolling, I still find some little fails. So, as for now, I'm mostly working on categorization and aesthetics for them to be uniform and to Ryzom universe fit. Among other tasks, I am now answering a demand from Tamarea about Lore and Events: infoboxes for NPC. Contributors are not numerous but they are very active and work on the three original wikis (DE, EN & FR). When I find some time, I personnaly do some little bits of translation into spanish.

[Event] Refugee Days (Tamarea)

The Refugee Day, which began earlier, will end on April 23. It includes two OOC events: a treasure hunt and a small egg hunt, and a roleplay part, which will take place on April 18th. This RP event will highlight a part of Lore around the First Great Swarming, the Exodus and the Refugees, but also the history of the Rangers, directly linked to this part of the history of Atys. The event will continue with an expedition.

Q: Why are there so few eggs which pop?
R: There are eggs in each region of the nations (not in the Prime Roots) and they will come back often enough for everyone!

Q: There are different bugs in the small egg hunt (« old » tokens, won items that don’t appear in the special bag,...)
R: I just reported the issues to the dev, but we'll have to wait until tomorrow now. (so today!)

Be careful, you won’t win anything if you kill the egg in one shoot.
There are also giant eggs all around the surface of Atys for the treasure hunt. One Egg for each region to find and target.

R: The Karavan leaves the tribe, which becomes entirely marauder. On the other hand, I no longer have the minimum fame to access it in mind. The best thing will be for you to go and see carefully on the spot.

This is something we need to improve significantly... Both in terms of documentation for Ryzom Forge and for players. Open question about RF documentation: how to add Khaganat documentation in our wikis? (Khaganat and Ryzom Forge are partners, but have different wikis.) We already uploaded a part of it, but it's a lot outdated and the links are dead. I let you think about the RF technical documentation, we'll talk again about it on the forum, on RC or during the next meeting. The second kind of documentation is the one for players: how to have them updated on the wiki with all gameplay changes and new content? Any proposal?

Q: Did you mean Khaganat's documentation is outdated, Tamarea? Or is it ours?
A: Our wikis are not compatible, so even if we import them, we don't have their updates. And as their tree structure has changed, our links are dead. And that's a pity, given the richness of their technical documentation

A pity Zorroargh is not here… I don't have many feed back from readers / users. It's hard to know what is missing, too. As a Ranger, we help lot of youngs, and I was quite fed up to give the same old advices over and over again. I starded contributions because of that… just a note pad, to copy and paste. Then I noticed that the main contributor was of my own Guild. As you (maybe) know, there are six wikis: one for images and five wiki, very differents for each language (mains are EN FR DE), written by different people. Same issue with the forum: as Atys has a very long history, many posts are outdated (especially technical details and spoilers). A part of contributions are free (see the work of Lou Tei-Sang, or some writings as Eleanide's ones), an other part is LORE validated.

Q: Do you have any recent publications to show us?
A: Easy: on main page, a link show all recents changes. On the EN wiki (Navigation/Recent changes)

Q: Another thing about the wiki: It would be great, since there are filters, that articles needing to be proofreading or updating or watewer should be listed somewhere automatically. If there is a list like that please let me know. None of the "Special pages" (bottom of all sites) was like I thought.

Ceremony for Arionasis (may 10th)

I hope that most of those who so wished were able to attend this tribute ceremony. For the record, we just removed the Arionasis banner from the game, which was laying on the ground near Chiang. But Ari, his yubo zig, will remain permanently present (you can pet him). It was very emotional to see everyone present on Silan and to listen to everyone's words… We will publish the report of the ceremony, with pictures, on the forum. But I've seen that contributors have already created articles on the wiki: well done! For info, we have since one year the project of a permanent memorial for all players who passed away (waiting project). Any comment before to move to next topic?

DeepL ingame translation

Topic added to the agenda. Internally RRT and RF use a lot of DeepL automatic translator: We use it easily in events, by copy/paste, and I am doing the same right now for this meeting. DeepL translates much better than Google Translation, and this is particularly visible between German and French. We are testing the DeepL app on the test server, in order to use it as an automatic translator on all channels of the game. If it is successful (and it is on the way), we will install it on Atys. Then, there will be an option to enable/disable machine translations. This should greatly help to overcome the language barrier. And also to make events and meetings more comfortable!

Q: With this thing enabled, one will see everything in chats translated? Or will it only translate what one wants to say to chat?
A: I suggest you wait until we have it, before asking how it will work. We first test the translation as a whole. Then we will work on the "optional translation" part. The feedback from the testers will then be crucial to "model" this option. So I don't have an answer to that question yet. And of course, we will then improve the "optional translation" according to your own feedback, once DeepL is implemented on Atys. Who wants to know more should ask to go in test team.

We will start with feedback about teleport interface for kami and karavan players, you are on stage! First sorry for inconvenience with the resurrection issue using autopact. It is now fixed :) As some of you may have noticed the autopact does not need maximum fame to be used. It is a misunderstanding from the communication team. I try to give you a way to use your system with (visual) comfort, and introduced the autopact feature with the same spirit. The goal with Auto Pact feature is to remove that urge need to stack pacts to be able to play (and not to forget a zone!)

This is planned in my todo list :) to behave like the current list in the bag, but more condensed.

Q: What's the artifact?
A: An interface to use your teleportation system, it is totally optional. It is based on the marauder teleportation system, but without using ARK. It is a mirror of the pacts you own in bag, and act like a bookmark. Interface is client side, so you should not have lag or delay using it.

Q: What are conditions to get and use the teleportation artefact?
A: To own and use the artefact you will need +33 Kami or Karavan fame + the rite. The Auto Pact feature works with +33 fame or higher in case of surface altairs and +60 in case of altairs in Prime Roots.

Q: Where do you get the artefact?
A: You can get artefact at the 4 religious points on Atys, in Kami or Karavan temple.

Q: I'm at Kami temple, have 100 fame, no one (npc) want to sell artefact to me. What is wrong?
A: The artifact allowing to use the new K/K pact interface is finally available at the temples, from a dedicated NPC! (official announcement few hours after the meeting)

Q: If the fame shut down behind the requiered fame, is the auto pact still working?
A: No it won't.

Q: Is it possible to lock the windows mode of the interface after a log out?
A: It isn't possible yet.

Q: Is there an auto message when it auto buy and when it does not?
A: Yes, when you auto-buy new one or about that a teleporation pact was destroyed.

Q: Will the new Kami / Kara TP be same cost as Ranger?
A: It is an interface, the system stays the same as before, just the bulk of teleportation pacts was removed.

Q: Is there anything new for Neutrals?
A: This is an content addition only for Kami and Karavan (for once). Neutral players still benefits the free bulk :)

I think this change happened in the context of a forum thread started by Revvy. The purpose was to invite homins to RP and explain a bit what RP was etc. However the around intro just says ok here some people RP and doesn't go as deep as it should. Addition to roleplay description is in WIP (as stated earlier), the communication team and lore are on it. There is no message on lang universe because it is the same rules as the normal universe, and since players are smart enough to know this. Announcement message are sent in the system information too. News from the Wiki Project Team (Tamarea)

A brief word on the progress of the new group working on Ryzom wikis: the contributors are now "clearing" the wikis: they are searching, sorting, reflecting, organizing. It is a long preparatory work but very promising for the future! They will tell you more about it at a future meeting.

NH and modifications on all missions of the game

Q: What is being done about the loss of faction points?
R: Nothing directly for now, the fixing patch was only about dappers and fame. On the other hand, it is always possible to earn faction points via delivery missions. The new Involvement system available during Dynamic Events allows you to earn crystals and raw materials. The number of Involvement that can be won during an Event probably needs to be balanced, but the basis is there.

Q: The NH no longer accepts bouquets of all qualities : only Q40 and Q10. But I have lot of other qualities in my bag. Is that a bug or a feature?
R: When I'ill have no more 40 and 10 Q bouquets in my bag, NH will accept other qualities. Its a feature!

Q: I wonder how we will be able now to buy raw materials of turquoise, green and purple color to craft pretty armors. Can't we lower the prices of raw materials or let us win some of all colors at the Wheel (not only brown)?
R: This could be a valuable RP reward, against Involvement. We have a list of future RP rewards to add, but we didn't have that idea in there. Besides, if you have other ideas for RP rewards, don't hesitate to share them with us on the forum!

Q: What was the point in making the change at all, unless you just wanted players doing more missions?
R: Our intention with the NH modification was to revalue the 11670 unused missions due to NH's absolute supremacy. However, this was supposed to be done smoothly, in steps, and not as quickly. But the NH database being totally broken, we decided to modify NH as of this patch, even if the mission balancing was not ready. Following your feedback, I will bring the Game Design team together again and we will discuss a possible step back. In other words, we will consider putting back in place, at least in part, the old NH system. While continuing in parallel to make the other missions more interesting, so that you can freely diversify your gaming experience.
Ryzom used to be about freedom of choice. A player, choosing their own destiny, their own style of play etc. Now, new Ryzom: Seems to be more about Ryzom dictating to players.For example, every reward seems to be Gubani Tokens, but what about players who don't want to play the Gubani wheel? RP rewards, what about players that don't want to get involved in RP etc. Dapper missions, it used to take 30 minutes to earn dapper, then you were free to do what you enjoy. Now, to get the same dapper you need to do 13 Corporal missions.
To offer a suggestion : maybe it would be useful to put some effort into completing some of the unfinished Rites or Encyclopaedia missions.

The new interface of the K/K pacts (Tamarea)

Were you able to test it from the fixing patch earlier?
I can't cause artefact disappeared since reboot.
There was a problem with the artifact, but normally everything came back in order... except for those who logged in at the time of the bug, like you two.
I was able to test it a little bit, it works pretty well, but I get scared at first. I didn't immediately understand that it only buys back the *last* TP. On the other hand, if we could have the names of the TPs in the interface rather than in popup, it would be ideal.

New colors for icons

What do you think of the new saturation of the icon colors?
Nice job for me. I have some regrets on the tryker blue that turns grey, but nothing excessive.
French said it's nice.
I strongly dislike the grey that has replaced tryker blue.

Ingame integration of DeepL translator

Q: Do we know what languages Deepl will translate?
For now DeepL translate English, French, German, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Russian.

Q: Will Atysian languages be taken into account?
No Atysian language is supported by DeepL, sorry.

JY 2603 patch balance: fix of delivery missions

The following changes in delivery missions are intended to offset the loss of nation (civ) points awards previously granted by New Horizons:
  • Decrease in weight of parcels to deliver
  • Decrease to 8 hours of the time limit imposed for the repetition of the same mission
  • Increase in rewards granted in lower level areas (100-150 regions)

Q: Since the proposed time limit is only one hour shorter than the current one, will the situation really improve? Shouldn't the rewards be increased enough to be as high as those New Horizons granted, even if they are more difficult to obtain?
The shortening of the repetition time is not so negligible and, above all, it does not come alone: the increase in rewards in low-level regions reduces the need for repetition and the reduction in the weight of packages, by allowing delivery by teleportation, shortens the time required to complete the mission itself.
In any case, if these changes prove insufficient, others will be implemented: these first measures are emergency ones whose impact on nation points remains to be precisely measured. We are actually following a plan for overall balancing and we are relying on you to provide us with constructive feedbacks on this first step, as well as those to come.

Q: What if to order New Horizons to deliver instead? One pays dappers to New Horizons and give him package and receive desired points after it...

Q: Are there any plans to reduce the repetition time for other missions (crafting or killing ones)? And to give another way to obtain crystals than just delivering parcels?
For the other missions (this was one of the topics of the last Ryzom Forge meeting) the repetition times have indeed been greatly increased, but so have the gains! In any case, yes, our plan is to highlight ALL of Atys' missions, to make them more attractive.

Improvement for all missions

To help players find a particular NPC, we will add a "Where is... ?" to the dialog box of ALL NPCs.
In order to encourage players to increase the number of their missions (as earnings have been significantly increased) the help function to find other NPCs entrusting missions will be added.

Q:Afair, tourist guides do not have option to point to New Horizons now. Will New Horizons be added to "Where is...?" list?
All useful NPCs will be.

Q: What about those who chose to previously level their crafting solely through missions and who are left now with very long wait times and a stockpile of mats ?
If you exhaust all the crafting missions on the continent, I think your stock of materials will be very lightened…
Q+: But, if you are working on crafting q200 you're not going to want to take a crafting mission that asks and pays for q60!
You will find missions of the appropriate level in all Atys countries, in tribes etc. You are not about to be able to fill them all out…

Q: Most missions, in some way decrease tribe fame. What about players who don't want to gain or lose any fame?
With the new missions system, if you don't want to change your fame you will have to balance fame gains and losses of the missions you take; there is no way for now not to loose or win fame... Maybe in the future, but the point for now is balancing.
Q+: That's my point though : it's near impossible to do that without knowing exactly how much fame each tribe gives / takes!

Marauders tribes and missions are in the process of being created and some changes in the missions (the fame rewards of some of them) is a first step in the integration of this addition.

• Under testing: Addition of the Marauder zone near Nexus Minor
• Work in progress:
  • Creation of the Maraudeur City map, with its NPCs locations, in the main area of the zone
  • Addition of a vortex between Nexus Minor and Marauder zone
• Next steps:
  • Move of the Marauder Camp to the new zone
  • Creation of the new Marauder City
  • Move of the camp's NPCs to their final location inside the City.
The new Marauder map is already on the test server Yubo, the work is in progress.
