TECHNICAL SUPPORT / WEB APPs BUGS

Tried both scenarios:

- when in Dyron, doing a /who listed some 10 people. Once in apartment, same /who listed only 2, me and a person who confirmed they were in their apartment too.

- when in Pyr, /who lists again two different things inside and outside the guild hall.

So, effectively, I think when you enter one of these places you're leaving the region they're located in. Not much of an issue (not even of privacy), just wondering if this is an intended behaviour for who.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

I think that is either a feature, or a side effect. Indeed, when entering apt or GH, you vanish from local /who list.
It is quite consequential that you will land somewhere. And indeed that is the apartment/GH space of your region.

I never saw that as wrong output. But your mileage may vary.

This is all due to how guildhalls and apartments are located in the game. All areas are placed on a massive square, which can be noticed when targeting landmarks in other lands than the one you are currently in. By doing this, you can make out where the lands are actually placed compared to eachother, which is nothing at all like the world map we have when you zoom out.

Right before merge, when everyone could teleport wherever they wanted by using coordinates, me and some guildies managed to find the apartments, guildhalls, old pvp and starter islands and whatnot. Doing a /who shows those who are in your region, and since all apartments are placed in a line somewhere just west of olkern island, and quite a bit east of lakelands, it would make sense for /who to show those logged in in these areas, and not the one you entered from.

The interesting question would be: does /who only show those who are in an apartment of the same land, or all apartments? Considering there's about 100 meters between the actual areas, it would be interesting to know.

(The apartment zones are as everyone has noticed instanced though, so even though you are on the same spot on the worldmap, you can't see eachother. So no trying to sneak in and watch your guildleaders undress now, I've been told that is a bad thing to do.)

"It's shite being tryker! We're the lowest of the low. The scum of Atys! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the Matis. I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We're ruled by effete arseholes. It's a shite state of affairs to be in, Marceline, and ALL the fresh air in the world won't make any ****** difference"

It's too bad I took a break during the merge. I really would have liked to see the old starter islands, and the other things that happened around that time. Also, I went to ML too soon after restarting on my high level character : (

I thought it was obvious that when you go into a Guildhall or apartment, you are sent elsewhere, to somewhere on the edge of the map.  You are not in the same building/tree/whatever and certainly not in the same town or region.

Whatever the reason for this, it makes no sense.   The Guildhalls and apartments are supposed to be there in the building/tree where you go in the door.  If it is a teleport operation (as it seems to be), you could have your entrance anywhere, and you could have more then one.  You could teleport from anywhere into your apartment with a ticket like the Teleporters/Zinuakeen.  This is nonsense.

I understand why the teleport system is used; like a lift or elevator, you are supposed to assume that you travel straight up (or down) for several meters.  The more logical way to get upstairs would be to, er, use the stairs like in the palaces in Pyr.  Presumably this takes too much coding.  Fine. The teleport system is used as a shortcut.  OK, but why relocate to the edge of the map?  Maybe there is a good reason but it does cause confusion about where you actually are.  If you go into an apartment in Fairhaven, surely you are still in Fairhaven.  Fix the /who results to show this and it would all make more sense.

Hey, it either makes no sense, or it is obvious. It can't be both at the same time, unless we're using Ryzom logic :D

If you try a /where, the info says you are in the same region with your apartment. If one toon is in their Dyron apt and one in a Thesos apt, /who doesn't list them together. Maybe the devs hard-coded an exception. There was also an exception coded to clear the compass pointer to a team mate if you both enter your apartment.

I ran a few tests, with my alt placed in their Thesos apt. Distances from different kami tps:

Knot of Dementia - 13km east
GoU - 10km east
Yrk - 16km east
FH - 32.6 km north
Pyr - 24.0 km north
Nexus - 13.5 km east (and a bit north)

I wonder if one could extrapolate.

It can be both at the same time.  It's obvious to anyone who has ever looked at the map while in an apartment or Guildhall.  That doesn't make it  logical.  It still makes no sense.
