Hi, I started playing Ryzom again 1-2 months ago on the office laptop because my PC died of old age in January. However, yesterday I built a new PC from seperate parts I ordered last week. So today I installed windows and started to install my Steam games from the Steam backups I had done.

I had done a Steam backup of Ryzom on the office laptop and put it on a USB key. Just 5 min ago, I did a Steam game restore using that USB key. Started the game and to my surprise it already knew who I am and what my password is because it took me directly to the playing character chooseing screen.

This leads me to believe that the Steam backup had also backed up the login information of Ryzom. This could be a security issue.

Was this meant to be done this way?

If you using Steam to login to Ryzom, then Ryzom account gets linked to Steam user after first successful login.
No passwords are saved on Steam side.

I am sorry. It might be because of my age, 58 years old but I still do not understand where it picked up the password to login into Steam.

1. Was the password only for the first ever logging into Ryzom?

2. Was there even a password at all beause I am having a hard time remember now?

3. Should I normally have to login an ID and a password everytime I start Ryzom?

4. If I am supposed to use an id and a password everytime I start Ryzom and if Steam does not remember game passwords, then where did it get the password on this PC that was built from zero 3 days ago with brand new hard drives?

Game account will be linked to Steam account after the first time you press 'play' on Steam interface and login into game using game user/password.

Second time your press 'play' on Steam interface, game signs you in using Steam account ID.
