If you activate ingame log using /chatLog command, it will write log file (for that character) under save/log_<char>.txt

I am creating this topic because many of you cannot install Ryzom. Either the installer tells you that the patch failed or it tells you that the file is bigger than expected.

Here is the new installer which should help you to install Ryzom :

Windows 64 :

Download the file :

Unlock the executable ( right clic/property )

Install ryztart

Linux 64 :

Download the file :

Unzip it

On folder ryztart_installer click on Install Ryztart

If it didn't launch, right click on the ryztart_installer folder and choose open console and then type : sh package.bin]]>

Yes, it really is hard to replace a mouse for tasks that are designed for a mouse. It's a bit easier when you have a game that can use a controller, but I have yet to see a controller with enough buttons to even handle the action bar, let alone all of the macros I use.
I believe it's for like windows laptops with touch screen, so you could use it without mouse, but you will still need a keyboard pretty sure.

Barring some form of neural interface, I simply cannot imagine any way Ryzom could be played without a keyboard, or at least a gamepad like a Razer Nostromo/Orbweaver that acts like one.]]>

Sometimes the active icon (little blue box with bars) disappears while the charteristic mods remain; other times the characteristic mods time out also.

They were working correctly before the recent set of patches.


Okay, this happened again. First flower I used lasted a full hour. The second one not so long.

The second flower was active while I was fighting a armas (as was the first). The only difference that I'm sure of is that while the second flower was active a gubani attacked me and joined the fight. Sometime during that fight the flower went inactive. I saw no messages that the gubani hit me with magic spells (although the animations did look like some were being cast). I had no messages that my flower boost was destroyed.

When the battle was over, the constituion and metabolism boosts were gone. When I tried to use a new flower I got a message that I coudn't use another flower for 46 minutes.

Do the gubani have some undocumented power to remove characteristic boosts and we don't get told or is this a bug of some kind?

Je peux comprendre le mécanisme liant la réputation maraudeuse aux autres réputations tant qu'il n'était pas possible de mettre en place des missions maraudeurs, c'était un pis-aller, mais cela n'a pas de sens de continuer à briser les règles du gamedesign s'il est possible d'avoir des missions de réputation. Il serait parfaitement envisageable que les missions maraudeurs ne soient pas disponibles tant que la réputation dans une nation n'est pas inférieure à un certain niveau (on commence à se fâcher avec les nations, puis on peut monter la réputation maraudeur) et cela serait en cohérence avec le mécanisme des autres réputations.

Est-ce que cela est aussi lié aux incohérences concernant le gamedesign de réputation sur certaines tribus ? En gros, chaque nation a une tribu ennemie (zorai-antekami, tryker-escalavagistes, matis-mercenaires écarlates et fyros : j'ai pas cherché). Faire des missions antekamis par exemple est le moyen le plus efficace pour faire baisser la réputation zorai ; et les missions zorai font systématiquement baisser énormément la réputation antekami (à coté, l'influence sur les réputations illuminées ou maitre de la goo sont vraiment mineures). Jusque là, c'est logique.

Ce qui l'est moins, c'est qu'il y a un changement important dans les calculs suivant le niveau de la réputation zorai (Idem pour les autres nations mais je prends celle-ci en exemple). Entre -10 et +50 chez les zorais, si on fait une mission zorai, on gagne en gros 4 points chez les zorais pour un point perdu chez les antekamis ; à l'inverse plus la réputation zorai est haute, moins on perd de points avec eux en faisant les missions antekamis. En dessous de -30, on gagne 4 points chez les zorais pour 3,8 points perdus chez les antekamis. Et vice-versa : une mission antekami rapportant 4 points dans la tribu en fait perdre 3,8 chez les zorais. Je pourrais affiner les chiffres en faisant plus de tests mais en gros voilà l'idée : impossible de monter une réputation tribu et nation si on démarre bas en nation, à l'inverse en étant haut en nation il est facile de monter les réputations tribus sans perdre sa réputation nation.

Cela a plusieurs conséquences :
- D'abord, l'impression qu'on se fout un peu de notre gueule. "Si t'es ami avec nous, tu peux aussi être ami avec nos enenemis ; par contre si t'es pas encore notre ami et que tu fricote avec les ennemis, alors on va te haïr de plus en plus, peu importe ce que tu fais pour nous".
- Ensuite, cela oblige à un choix :
- Soit accepter de ne plus pouvoir rentrer dans les capitales lors des events HRP
- Soit ne pas pouvoir monter les réputations tribus
- Soit abandonner la faction maraudeuse.

Les deux premiers choix impliquent d'avoir moins de possibilités de jeu qu'un membre des nations. Cela amène donc assez logiquement à privilégier le choix d'abandonner les maraudeurs. C'est un choix de gamedesign envisageable (une fois la faction vraiment morte on pourra s'en débarrasser sans que personne ne s'en offusque) mais là encore c'est incohérent avec le fait de mettre du temps de développement sur la faction en question.

Il y a d'autres incohérences à propos de la réputation maraudeur : un autre de mes personnages est à -100 en réputation maraudeur parce que sa réputation dans une faction est à +100 ; le reste ne dépasse pas +50. Mon perso maraudeur a 2 réputations à -100 et le reste à -50, ce qui fait sa réputation maraudeur à +50 : cela donne aussi un sentiment de déséquilibre. Et je ne parlerais pas du calcul du pvp, qui est absolument déséquilibré, ce sujet est déjà bien assez long.

Au regard de tout ça, les questions sont :
- Quel explication de gamedesign justifie ces déséquilibres et ces incohérences ?
- Y a-t-il moyen de rendre tout cela plus compréhensible et plus régulier ?]]>

The target lock was designed to prioritize teams over single players to prevent a single player to lock a boss and wait for the team. This on the other hand brings the situation that a teamed player can (even by accident) steal a lock from not teamed player. It works well on team basis, however once a single player is involved, he always loose.


I consider this to be partially broken (thus confirmed [issue]), however to allow a single player to gain a target lock will not solve the problem (more the opposite). An option might be to limit this behavior only on nameds and bosses and solve it for regular targets some other way, like highest damage.

In all cases, this is a work for the Game Design team.

Dans ce cas je vous recommande d'essayer de le lancer en tant qu'administrateur en faisant un clique droit dessus, ou est-ce que c'est après avoir rentré votre identifiant et votre mot de passe ?

Si c'est le premier cas, il se pourrait que votre disque dur comporte des erreurs corrigeables ou bien qu'il rende l'âme (il existe des logiciels pour le vérifier) ou bien que votre système d'exploitation ne soit pas à jour.

J'ai résolu ce sujet, c'était un problème de "Position X" et "Position Y" dans la configuration du jeu, ce qui faisait en sorte que la fenêtre s'ouvrait en dehors de l'écran (et donc écran blanc au moment où on passait le curseur sur la fenêtre de Ryzom).

If you got the achievement and then crashed before th eserver saved, then the achievement was not saved. 

It will save on an intentional log-out though, and that is one way to get around having to wait (up to) 9 minutes for an autosave. However, logging out and back in takes at least a minute and is a bit more effort than just going AFK for a few moments.]]>

bien sûr comme par hasard, le launcher refonctionne là , mises à jour des patchs ok, sélection du personnage et je suis ig ...

Appreciate the thoughtful response, but i just couldn't wrap my head around it.  I thought it was funny and that's why I made the title a joke.

What was puzzling me is:

1.  I started the day with teeny DP and I died like 4 or 5 times.

2.  Each time ... I looked and laughed but I don't remember seeing a huge jump in those total and recovered numbers.

3.  My purpose in being down there was to confirm NPC locations, test missions and report potential bugs.

4.  I was not killing anything, mostly dropping aggro on the federals and tribe camps.  So having died 4 or 5 times, seeing the jump that big on only the last one didnt make sense as I couldn't imagine having recovered 1.7 million DP "planting flags".  And if I did, why didnt I see anything near those numbers with deaths 2 thru 5 ? 

4.  BTW, next time I killed something .... a puka in front of TP, DP was still above 4.6 million.

5.  I realize now I made a mistake in referencing the "you just killed something and now have 2.74 DP" message..... I realize that it is irrelavent tothe discrepancy I was trying to explain and shud have provided two of the same consecutive identically worded messages.

The one saying "Your death penalty has reached 4,262,500 and you have recovered ...." and the one I remebered preceding it "Your death penalty has reached 2,750.000 and you have recovered ....",  Perhaps I misremebered but but given the way in seemed to jump off the screen that *one* time, I'd say possible but not likely.

If it hapens again, I'll take screenies after each one and perhaps you can clue me in one what Im missing.  Just having the last one isn't really helpful.

Personally, I don't have any reason to care as it has 0 impact.   It's not like I am grinding to earn XP at this point... no matter what I do down in SC, toon is not capable of earning XP with DP or no DP.  But, as you know from past efforts we have worked on, if I encounter a puzzle that I can't solve, it's gonna gnaw at my brain till I can make sense of it.

Akhires ... all i can say is "interesting mindset"... my 1st karen-like experience.  What I'd like you to realize is I couldn't care less about getting DP; its a normal state of being.  DP is only meaningful when your toon can earn XP.  I haven't gone one day without DP since mid May.   I'd be real interested as to the reason anyone in such a situation would become "unsettled".  To me this is simply a puzzle, I puzzle I'd like to solve.

I should aslo tell you that no, I have never paid much attention to DP mechanics other than how it affected the math in Bunny Tools.  DP has simply never been something worth caring about.  The change in the pattern after deaths 2 thru 5 seemed consistent, death 6 not being consistent intrigued me, I could not account for the change in pattern so I asked the question. 

Yes i do get that the math works for the 6th deal the 3 numbers do draw a logial conclusion ... my issue hoiwver is that the 5th deaths numbers for total / recovered where about half.

Again, it would have been more helpful for me to post pics of two of the same messages ...

being preceded by

"Your death penalty has reached 2,750,000 and you have recovered ...."

The 2,746,00 thing with the cuttler was a red herring and just confused the issue, my bad.

The recovered DP is the most puzzling as I did nothing to earn any of it running around and planting flags, and seeing if the mobs and missions mats requested actually existed in region ... 1.7 mil DP recorved ?  ... from what ... wouldn'y I have to kill / harvest / craft a bunch of thing to build that in in such a short time ?

 I have seen a lot of things in the game that didn't make sense:

Soon after asking about those, was able to get constructive answers.  But the images speak for themselves, they do not make sense ... the explanations provided however did.   The text is still not rational, I now understand the cause.  But that doesnt change the fact that there is a disconnect between event sequencing that is possible given technology restraints and what is suppossed to happen in the "World of Atys".

Next time in, I will see if I can duplicate the experience.  If  can't,  then problem solved ...a bug is not a bug unless you can dulicate it.    If I  can duplicate it, perhaps we can put our heads together and detemine what happened ....

I'll note that that was a rough day for electonics ... we had storms all day, 4 power interuptions, longest 11 minutes (UPS last 20ish), a 2 hour brownout (103 volts) .... but i didn't notice anything on the PC other than monitors were a litle dull during the brownout.  I'm fairly confident that anything that would affect data integrity would not have gotten pass the UPS.]]>

I would also suggest including Shadowplay for movies from nVidia ... it's already on 82% of gamer's PCs

Older windows version have built in print screen tools Shift-Prnt Scr.  Also can be saves wherever you want  E:\Ryzom 64\Screenies or E:\Ryzom 64\Tickets in my case

Eh bien moi je vais prendre la parole pour défendre cette "hérésie" qui est une des avancées majeures à mon sens.

Alors bien sûr cela a des contraintes, la première étant de s'exprimer CORRECTEMENT car oui le traducteur ne peut traduire que ce qu'il comprend et les idk, imo, et autres langages sms sont à proscrire ! Mais moi je dis tant mieux ! Quelle joie de retrouver un langage informatif et pas une suite d'abréviations sans queue ni tête !

But I say so much the better! What a joy to find an informative language and not a series of abbreviations without head or tail!
So thanks to the proofreader and yes, it must remain by default in the on position!

Ryzom was unplayable ... constant Please Waits. Checked Bandwidth Monitor on Router and it was showing slightly more than the ISP guaranteed minimum speed in one client. So checked my son's box and Steam was downloading an update to a game. According to Steam, it was downloading at an average rate of 11.2 Mbps and peaking at 12.4 Mbps

And yet the router was indicating that bandwidth on that channel ranging from 200 to 500 Mbps. Yes ... delivering 12 but consuming 200 - 500.. Whatever I set the limit to... he would get about 1/3oth of that.

Lmiting it in steam app didn't seem to change anything. This appears to do the trick.]]>
