Yes I know that there is support for mp3, but it still doesn't work on linux, even if it was added. So only Windows is supported for both formats: mp3 and ogg. Linux has still only ogg support. (I use linux and the offical client aswell)

Heernismp3 support was added a year ago. git commit hash 1e6027c if you interested.No mp3 support for linux. Only ogg.
