I am often puzzled as to whether a mission is truly broken or if circumstances (seasons, not fully killed spawn, whatever) are just preventing me from doing so. I'll try and keep this post updated with post number, description and status. Users can report their experiences and possible ease the burden on support staff if we can cut down on the number of mission submitted if answers can be found here. Format I'll suggest is:

Post No. - Mission Giver - Allegiance - Problem - Result

002 - Liangi Pei-Ziao - Outlands Supplier - Give 1 Big Barrel of at least quality 250 to Zumifayu in Void - Got report but no barrel.  Resolved; Inadequate inventory space to take barrel.

007 - Hon Ba-ben - Zorai Captain MinCho - Go to Void and kill 2 of any type of Yetin - Killed, 2 and did not complete.  Glitch or broken to be determined.

Summary (Thru Post No. 011):
Missions Reported: 2
Missions as yet Unresolved: 0
Missions Resolved: 2
Missions Requiring Repair: 0

Do you think it is good to have so many threads, separated by regions? I would choose to have one post for each mission, all in one thread.

Gidget, did you check the Sys Info? Every time I've met this kind of trouble, it was because I hadn't enough room in inventory (especially for big barrels and the such).

Maybe he predicted enough problems for a unified thread to be rather long? Just a guess...

Gidget, did you check the Sys Info? Every time I've met this kind of trouble, it was because I hadn't enough room in inventory (especially for big barrels and the such).
I didn't see anything, so I didn't go back to FH to make room like I would've had I seen something about being too encumbered. Also, where did that q250 Report come from?

I have had this a couple of times, not with DMs but with tribes ... barrels have big bulk 60 is not unusual ... I have had one item that was 150 (Brazier) IIRC.  The Corsairs tribe has for example a slew of Delivery Missions.   IIRC, It used to take me 3 trips to do all of them ... good parts was ... one of them is 2 steps to your right, and I think 4 right on the islands around camp.

One thing worth noting  for the primitive Tribes like Zumifayu (Cuzans, Gibbads, Fraiders), they don't show up on the compass as scroll icons and tageting via Macro or /tar is significantly less range.

That's a bit more than I had then; I usually have closer to 90 bulk free unless I'm digging. But it still doesn't explain how I wound up with that q250 report, or why I didn't see "You are too encumbered". Maybe getting it as a DM made a difference? Maybe a one-time glitch?

I discovered that the other night when I couldn't target an NPC less than 20m away until I rounded a corner, or one ~80m away until I crested a hill. (Neither were Primitive tribes.) I had thought /tar would reach out to ~240m or so regardless of obstacles just as it always has, but apparently things changed.

Every delivery mission I took from the DM, I got the items to be delivered directly in my bag. And that's how I understood the sentence "As usual, I manage to send you, in person, the messages or packages of any deliveries." in the DM screen.
But the "You are too encumbered", I only got in the Info Sys tab. No other warning. Now, I checked the tab every time I take such a mission.

Yes, I know where that message [i]should[/b] be. I keep SysInfo opened into it's own window so I can keep an eye on it.

At this point though, I'm inclined to just call it a glitch and be done with it though.

Would likely call this  a glitch rather than broken  ... unless of course, others en counter the same problem.



Edit: Must be a Glitch. I got cred on the 3rd kill but I did observe this ....

a) The one I got not get cred for, I finished it off while running throwing enchants.

b) Next mission was to loot (5) pieces of Ocyx ... on 1st kill I got (2) ... on 2nd kill I got (2) .... low on HP, I used two double spells and then ran off to finish with an enchant. Spawn was a mix of (2) Awesomes and (5) terrifying which were too low. Trying to rush it I wold throw (2) spells, and finish off w/ enchants .... after killing (3) spawns, I finally decided to skip the enchants and got cred.

c) Next mission was to loot (1) Kincher and (1) Kipesta both 235+. The pesta went down w/ 3 spells. Killed (3) kinchers w/ combo of spells and enchants ... no cred. Last one killed w/ just spells and got credit.

Bad luck or does using enchants impact the probability of kill creds or loot drops on missions ?

It is hard for me to read from your post what were exact circumstances for each kill and the result, so I can only guess. If I understand you, it seems, there are troubles to get a kill counted (or loot mission mats) in case you use enchants, right? I think that you will not get a kill counted if you only use enchants. Maybe a problem with the lock system?

Do you see any difference when you never/always use enchant? Start combat with enchant/spell? End combat with enchant/spell? Never use magic? Can you check if you have lock on the target in each case?

There is very good chance for the kill not being counted if you use enchant without enough regular damages (same mecanics as for xp).

I have completed many kill missions with enchants alone, so I'm inclined to think it's an issue with the lock system. I don't think I've ever seen a lock in a while. That includes Nameds; I've killed quite a few of them and had looting rights without that lock showing up.

@Sin - You need at least one regular hit for XP, but I've had no-enchant kills not count and only-enchant kills count. That's a lot less consistent than XP where you can ALWAYS go full-enchant after that first hit and still get credit.

Kill No. 2 Had low HP so after throwing 2 spells, ran in order in order to avoid taking any damage and killed w/ enchant... No Cred
