ИДЕЯ ДЛЯ РИЗОМА

Don't really have in issue with most of the stuff here, and it's not the dapper costs ... but if I wanted to buy a stack of 999 "wundahmat", the nation point cost requires me to do way too many (20) hand-ins to NH ... and that basically would last me just one round of missions w/ say Tribe Welcomer, Scout and Journeyman and that's with only just one tribe.

I agree and since I turned neutral, there should be a system where if we are friendly with max fame for all civilizations, we should be able to get some sort of assistance. I am not talking about "Freebies" but some way to make it a little more balanced. Even if it costs us Dappers, there should be other ways to achieve this. I do not want faction picks, nor am i concerned abouts Cats or Crystals, just mats for tribe missions.

Any thoughts?

I've always been amazed by the price of potatoes compared with the payout from New Horizons. Piks and crystals are reasonably priced, but the exponential pricing on potatoes (or "wundahmat") makes getting a usable quantity of them requires so much time/effort spent on occupations that it's just not worth it.

As a Ranger, I can only earn 1800 points a day. That's only enough for 28 potatoes of high enough quality for my favorite Overseers. Those who get the higher rates that citizens in high regard can get up to 112 potatoes a day, but that's still no less than 9 days to get a full stack or premium potatoes. For those of us who do not swear allegiance to any one nation, it's over a month.

While I understand that there is a bit of a markup due to the convenience of not having to go digging, I would rather spend a couple hours in Loria than a handful of weeks to get a similar quantity of crafting mats for missions. The ratio is beyond unfavorable.

Ummm? Am I missing something? I haven't done much in the way of tribal missions, but what I have done they seemed the same as the Overseer missions.

Which is to say that they may ask for high Q crafts but they don't give a *bleep* what quality of mats go into them (i.e. basic or fine is ok with them). As I explain it, "they only look to see if the trim is there." Therefore digging for the mats is a piece of pie. Why use potatoes?

Laziness?

I suggest to remove "potatoes" completely and make crystals more expensive.

Hmm, choice potatoes were bit expensive, maybe offer basic ones as cheaper alternative?

(And maybe one day one for us in Hidden Source.... Desperately needing more crystals lol ^^)

Given what many people use them for, I think that would work. I generally dig Fine for my crafting missions since I craft for overseers of all four races, so Choice is overkill.

Yes ....

1. To do one round of Tribal missions ... say Hamazans of the Dead Seed, you need 1,079 mats of 10 different types ... and that might earn you 10 nation points on a good day.

2. In doing so, you are mixing kill missions with craft missions which also means carrying enough weapons and armor to accomplish those. Let's not forget needing to carry a tool for EVERY craft skill.

3. On top of that, you have to store the crafts .... so how many packers are you expected to bring with you.... not to mention that some of the craft missions require you to craft 1000+ bulk of crafts.

4. Now for nation points, it doesn't take much T & E at all to bump ya fame up 10 points.

5. And when you do NH, and get the points to spend... all of the other items you can choose from seem like a fair trade ... crystals, picks, cats whatever seem **worth** the number of points you spend on them.

6. So the question is... is it a good idea to make it 20 times harder in T & E to get Tribe Fame Points than Nation Fame Points ? There is certainly possible way anyone would consider buying Wundahmat to level crafting, .... digging is certainly more economical from a T & E standpoint. And I wouldn't want that to change. However, with 0 weight / 0 bulk, Wundahmat is perfect for taking on a dozen or so wildly different craft missions without having to use alts and their pets to accomplish.

7. But as someone who's been here 14 years, I welcome a bit of variability in my day to day visits. And trailing several packers thru a region to collect 100+ mats of 10 types in oddball numbers is ... simply put ... just "totally out of whack". It's like getting from 240 to 241 in OA took an hour of effort, but DA took 20 hours of effort. The unbalance just makes pursuing this activity extremely unattractive which perhaps the reason why so few players have undertaken it.

8. I was always frustrated finding eggs w/ Wuhndamat and always just destroyed them ... and when redeeming points, only thought was, who would be so silly as to waste points on these ? It was only after getting all tribe fames above KoS level and maxing out about half of them that it occured to me that "Hey, maybe this is why they are there?

9. No yes, I understand many folks do Occs solely to get crystals and more so cash ... but if you have no need for those, then what ? Should the fate of all players be determined only be determined by the needs of those who need crystals and dappers ? If they are there, shouldn't they be reasonably priced such that someone would actually spend points that way ?

10. Not saying it shouldn't involve T & E, everything should .... but balance is important. Of all the choices at the vendor, crystals are perhaps slightly under priced but not significantly so ... wundahmat on the other is off the scale by several orders of magnitude. Like fast food joint ..

Hamburget - $2.00
Cheesburger - $2.25
Hot Dog - $1.75
Fishburger - $2.75
Salad - $45

Just doesn't quite "fit"

Freddy... $45 - Salad? What fast-food joint do you eat at? And on a more serious note, thank you for your time and energy because I belive that you are correct....

Well that's the thing, tho I see know shuda made that clear ... if the fast food restaurant had a menu like that, no one would opt for the salad ... just like no one is gonna opt for the Wundahmat.

Yes in this day and age, few folks want to read more than a headline or a text message before feeling they have absorbed everything there is to know about issue. But as I took your interest as genuine and with Ryzom having so many questions that you could ask, for which there could be many different correct answers (best weapon ... best place to dig, etc) that I wanted to pass on all the relevant information that came to mind.
