5.2 Raw materials

Q PtitBill: I wanted to submit a project (which will not be processed immediately). Currently the materials for the craft come either from hunting or drilling.

With the Lore Team we took each foraged material one by one to see its "logic". So much for some digging is ideal, for others we have doubts... about the why, the reason that let Devs to place them in the ground.
The material that, in our early research, seems the most absurd to find in the ground is wood in all its forms. Why homins should dig around it while there are lots of trees of all species?
So, my question tonight will be ... "and if you did you cut trees!" your opinion?
Nuts : For me the reason is easy to understand, it comes from the craft itself. it's really long to up it... can you imagine what will be the result if we add a new branch in the balance, like crafting armor... harvesting for sap/oil/resin and lumberjack for wood?
Shaliss: Maybe it's the wood tree roots that we picks digging?
Deed: It's a tree-planet : we can forage all these!
Shepeng :  I found the idea interesting and I am ready to propose that tree cutting become illegal in Matis continent!
Nuts:  the idea is a good one... but i don't see you can bring it live without breaking everything in place.
Deed: It can be done but we have to add new materials in existing categories...
PtitBill: The "news" will not necessarily be crafted the same way as the existing ones. Nor with the same materials. As for fishing rods for example, we may need something other than buckle wood, bark.
Depyraken : I indeed planto implement tools to craft fishing rods (or other objects). I thought about a saw, for example.  It is true that the lumberjack activity would provide the necessary materials to craft fishing rod.
Nuts: In that case, i'm 100% in PtitBill and Depyraken.

1 Métier de pêcheur

Depyraken : Dans ces vidéos, on peut voir comment l'activité de pêcheur peut être mise en place : en passant du craft de la canne à pêche, de la préparation des appâts pour finir par la pêche elle-même.
Tout ce travail devrait pouvoir servir pour d'autres activités (voire y être associé). je pense notamment au bucheronnage.
Dans les vidéos, j'évoque les problèmes que j'ai constatés et qui demandent encore un peu de travail.

Q : et tous ça avec des primitives ?
R Depyraken : Non, la seule primitive, c'est pour donner le permis de pêche.

Depyraken : Je voulais juste revenir sur le craft de la canne à pêche (ou la préparation d'appâts) qui peut paraître anodin. Ça va nous permettre de nous ouvrir à d'autres activités comme la cuisine, la menuiserie,.... (je laisse libre cours à votre imagination... à vous d'y trouver d'autres utilisations).

2 Projets de missions et métiers

Tamarea : La restructuration du travail entre RT et RF, notamment grâce Slack Ryzom Forge, permettra de finaliser les projets en cours un par un.
Je suis en train de faire le point avec PtitBill sur les besoins de chaque projet, notamment les tâches restant à réaliser par chaque groupe (côté Ryzom Team (RT) comme RF).
J'en profite pour rappeler que pour rejoindre le groupe Ryzom Forge sur Slack, et donc y suivre l'avancée de tous les projets en cours, il suffit dd'envoyer un email à tamarea@ryzom.com, ou un mail IG à Tamarea, ou me contacter sur IRC par MP, en me donnant votre email.

PtitBill : Nous avons actuellement une bonne douzaine de projets en cours de réalisation et 4 rites.
Je voulais ce soir vous parler d'un sujet qui je le souhaite vous interressera : le craft. La dernière fois j'avais abordé le bûcheronnage, ce projet doit permettre d'ajouter progressivement et en collaboration avec Depyraken de nouvelles matières et nouvelles possibilités de craft. Pas seulement au niveau des armes et armures mais d'étendre le craft à de nouvelles activités, de la construction (murailles par exemple), de la cuisine, de la fabrication de nouveaux outils où équipements, des potions (l'une des dernières propositions est un filtre anti-patrouille).

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the team for working hard on 12 projects and 4 rites. October is coming and I'm super excited, even if things are delayed I am glad we have some updates.

- GM rights of the Yubo accounts have been removed, and in the future these accounts will be closed. These accounts will be gradualy replaced by new individuals accounts with GM rights and yubo access, one account for each Forge team member that asks to Tamarea. Each forge team member that created scripts on an old account will be able to ask their tranfert to their new yubo character.

Matis light marauder boss

Nuts: I will just add few words about a new project I'm launching with an other player in cooperation with RF.
First of all, we are only at the beginning of the project and nothing has been yet validated.

We are working on adding a new light marauder boss in forest. We already have few ideas about a possible scenario where to put the new boss etc. But we don't want to repeat the errors made with Pei-Ruz, we want to do something which is matching the Lore that's why we are still gathering informations about the known matis marauders.
We are hoping that one day (not in a near future but still) we will have this becoming true and we think it will be a good addition to the game that will benefits to every players!

There is no antidote, a homin (or a creature) can't stay alive if staying a long time in Goo. But this boss has been created in a time when devs were adding things without asking for Lore validation, that's why it's an addition out of Lore. And unfortunately it would be too much work to fix it now.

Agan: Well, it's one of the nicest NPC bosses in terms of needing good teamwork to to bring him down.

Tamarea: I'll take your word about the design not consulting with Lore, but your statement about creatures staying alive in the Goo is wrong, and the wrongness goes back a long way.

1) Goo contaminated kipesta in the camp of Masters of the Goo.
2) The large two-trunked twining trees that have colonized all the places where the Goo is close to Witherings.
3) Numerous examples of Goo-contaminated beasts that have lived (and even bred) for many Years of Jena. Some in Silan, even. ( I am discounting such things as the Goo-Javings, and Goo-gibbai, that were parts of Marauder plots some time back. They never lasted long enough to show if they were viable or not.)

Even homins can be un-affected by Goo if they use their Invulnerability Power. That cannot be the case with Pei-Ruz since he clearly can act and be damaged, but perhaps his magical training has allowed him to isolate the damage caused by Goo and find a power to block it.
