Regarding the March 3rd patch notes. Was this fully thought through with the intention of starting aggro drag wars at boss spawns? I would just like to know because that is probably the biggest benefit of the upcoming patch. Before you shout that I'm crying about this please don't get me wrong I would be more than happy to return the favor given that there is "no proof" now. I would just like to know others thoughts on this so I can have a better understanding of it's meaning. Thank you.

Did you miss the bit about having to die? You can't drag aggro (deliberately or not) onto someone outside your team unless you die in the process. I don't see what your problem is....?

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

It allows suicide ganking. For example, Team A is killing a Boss and is spotted by Team B. Team B then wait until Boss is weakened enough then send an out of team member to dragg vorax spawn on Team A. The toon dies next to mage pod and then spawn aggros mages = teams wipes. Team B then take Boss. This will be 'legal' according to the new CoD.  Alternatively players will be allowed harrass others while the dig, train etc by simply dying to drag aggro.

Some would gladly die to get a boss. Lacuna pretty much summed it up. Dying is not a problem.
If you read my whole post you will see that I do not have a problem with this I am looking for answers as to why this was not thought about. Maybe there are more complete answers in the other language forums, I will search tomorrow. If I confused anyone I apologize. Have a great day.

Announcement has been changed to prevent mistakes. Suicide ganking is not allowed and will be punished until that can be proved. Like actually, this rule don't change.

Much better, thank you! The original sentence slightly worried me too.

Thank you for the clarification :)

I don't like this change at all. I can already picture at least a dozen situations in which people will be able to exploit this new system with oot healers, oot tanks, etc. I won't even mention them, but I'm sure others know what I'm talking about. It may solve a problem, but it creates other problems in turn. This new system is just begging people to exploit it.

I came back to the game since October and I haven't had a single aggro dragged on me on purpose - outside of PVP situations ofc, such as OP wars and supernodes, but I think aggro dragging in PVP is fine, it helps the team with smaller numbers have a chance against the bigger team.

The only times I hear of aggro dragging relates to boss campers having aggro dragged on them. I don't pick a side in that conflict, but I just don't see aggro dragging being such a huge issue on the game that it requires this solution - which as I already said, will cause many other problems and exploits.

I even did not see the issue with the patch as announced. Intentionally dragging agro onto others was never allowed until it was - as an exception - tolerated during OP wars and possibly as a tactic between consenting PvP players or teams.

Dragging agro onto other players intentionally outside such situations was considered harassment and abuse all times. So I simply fail to see why intentionally dying in order to drag agro onto others should be considered differently. There only remains to present evidence for the evil intention. In cases as discussed above such intention is obvious, and with CSR having the guts to punish such abuse it won't happen too often.

I never understood a technical change making agro drag more difficult as a license to harass others in cases not covered by the technical change. Game mechanics are one thing, CoC another one.

Upon reading the patch announcement I could immediately think of a couple ways people could abuse the new aggro bahavior not to mention that suicide dragging is still possible and DP isn't a huge deal to some people. I can dig it off easily and expect DP when boss searching (not that I would ever drag aggro on somebody on purpose). I addition to dragging, I can see that it could now be easier to use another friend or alt in order to clear aggro out of the way. This is already done but can be much easier if you just aren't teamed now. As well as what others have said.

Aggro dragging is a problem but I do think it has died down a bit and that this 'fix' is a bit flawed even with the change in rule wording. People have aggro dragged before and it will still be hard to prove if you aren't constantly paying attention for suicide draggers.

Never argue with an idiot; they will just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I'm sad i mastered all my melee since this patch looks like a killer patch for (solo) melee lvling. Have an alt healer (or friendly homin) out of team and go cicular on horncers/kinchers/.... in the past with a smart healer you where 75% safe looks like now you are 100% safe > Do we really have to make ryzom even easyier? Stop dumbing down and give us something hard to actually do!

Hey Subo.

Don't worry about that man, it seems like they modified it slightly, so now if you're an oot healer and you heal someone engaged with an aggro, that aggro will start targetting you as well. That will minimize a lot of possible exploits.

I'm happy this change was added to the system!

Ok that seems better.

And I never worry when I'm on. It's when I move that everyone should worry. But don't worry not gonna happen anytime soon.

I fail to see that the "being teamed" was ever meant differently from including healers like every out of team attackers (in a way, the healer of an attacker is an attacker no less than that one doing the actual strikes). So I am sure that healers, as well as (other) co-attackers, were never excluded from being aggroed.

Was trainging my alt with and another player this morning, and I was out of team as an emergency healer. There seems to be no difference post patch in regard to aggro targeting out of team healers.
