I've just read four pages of comments on how kara should or shouldn't do this and how kami should or shouldn't do that. None of it hits the real point of this game.

Ryzom is not a game of "follow this story arc and you win" like traditional mmos are. Ryzom is, as some have pointed out, a sandbox. That sandbox has a very particular focus, being that of scarce resources.

The drive to collect scarce resources creates conflict.

The game contemplates two (or possibly more) sides to drive that confict. It's a competition, not a cooperation. The game is set up that way.

"Why can't we just get along" works on a faction basis but not a cross-faction basis, when scarce resources are at stake. Therefore, we group with opposing faction people but we don't do so during OP wars or supernodes.

During scarce resource events, we compete. We do so by crafting gear designed to help us compete. We do so by working hard on the skills of competition.

No apologies for what I have written. I stand by this.

In the past, there were real alternatives in the gameplay, and PvP was not the main part of it. Tho, it was a fun activity to do sometimes, for both losers and winners. Now PvP is the main focus of the game. More, since the merge, Ryzom turned as a full PvP game.

This game is PvP as much as it is PvE.A handfull of ppl like to PvP here, most forage n craft.I love PvP and for me to find 1 tagged person to have some some fun its like winning the lottary, so pls do NOT say that ryzom is turned in to a PvP game cause thats kinda ironic.Some say that this game started as a PvE game and PvP was brought to ryzom later so ryzom should be as intended to be, a PvE game... HELLO this is a 10 yo game and PvP is here for quite some time.If u do not like PvP then dont do it no1 forces u to but pls stop trying to demise PvP in every chance u get.If u dont like it dont do it.
Forage your nodes craft your items kill a yubo and pls let the PvP communaty of this game alone we are a few

Yes Bina, alts are part of it however a conversation about alts will just get messy (feel like I'm having to repeat myself a fair bit here). I could for example point out Yorran, from what I saw, was in control of more alts than Yakapo at the last war I attended. Now that would be controversial that many people wouldn't have known about would they?? Stop bashing Yakapo for the love of Ma-Duk.

Stop bringing it up - promise you - Yaka had more than anyone else - please stop trying to defend him and just tell us to suck-it-up!

Already written to Yaka outside of fourms - so just drop it will you Virg!!

OPs are becoming an event exclusive for those who have mastered the arts of Pvp, this means a large part of the Ryzom population is being left out and OPs are no longer fun for the side who repeteadly loses.

You say: put in some effort, what does this mean? Train your launcher skills, be better at pvp? I dare saying that most people don't want to change their gamestyle just to make OPs more competitive in terms of PvP and more fun to you: the losing side loses interest and eventually the superb pvp side has no competitors so my guess is they lose interest too and move on.

Wont mention alts since thats not what you want to hear.
