I am having issue selecting a target whether it is an enemy or a npc, I have to double click the target even with Double Click Mode unchecked, I have a disability that makes it hard for me to double click fast enough to select anything and I have the double click speed setting set to the minimum if I assume this setting is the same as windows as far as minimum and maximum.

But.... even in Double Click Mode you only have to click once to select a target :o

In other words, that's really strange. Maybe it's the Linux or Mac version that makes you doubleclick?

That is correct, selecting should require a double click. Not on Linux or Windows, and presumably not on Mac.

I am not sure what "double click mode" is; are you referring to the "attack the target as soon as selected option" in the HUD section?

In that case, attacking can also be done by rightclick->attack. Doubleclicking something is never the only option in Ryzom.

Thanks for the replies, I will check these alternative methods out, right clicking does not work unless I am right next to an enemy, but it does not work for a ranged attack, I have to double click to select an enemy or a npc.

hmm i can be wrong but once you have some skills you just single click an mob and then press 0-9 & shift0-shift9 to execute a skill no need to auto att a mob with a default att in this game you can also put default att in the skill bar and making macro's to do alot at once can help aswell (this i just for attacking don't think there are macro's to talk with npc's)

Tech support responded with this tip which seems to satisfactory,

Pressing the space bar will auto select the target you are facing, also look at some other keybindings by pressing the "k" key in game, these are all configurable.

The space bar does not work for npcs but they seem to be a little easier to double click and then I can use the right click.

This is getting me confused and I wonder if we're talking about the same thing.

You should NOT EVER have to double click to select any mob or NPC in Ryzom. Selection is ALWAYS single click.

Can you tell me what operating system you are on?

"Double Click Mode" is in the Mouse options menu, if it's enabled (which it is by default I think) you need to doubleclick on the selected target to perform the standard action, like attack/talk/etc. if it's disabled you only need to singleclick. But that is all *after* you've selected the target, selecting is a single click in either mode.
